Chapter 147

The trip to the water supply plant was tense. Arjun ran across the calm streets with a small group of his finest operatives; the city's lights blurr in the darkness. His head flew and saw the worst. Any delay may mean disaster; they had already seen what the Black Dawn could do.

When they got there, the complex was shockingly quiet—except from the soft buzz of machinery. Anika waited for them at the door, her face tightly drawn. "We have a problem," she said without preparation. "Several hostile persons are inside, and their main filtration system has explosives set-up. Should things go off, the city's water supply will get contaminated."

Arjun sank in heart. " Do we know our running time?"
