"Um, no, not at all." She forced a smile and proceeded to open the letter.

As soon as she opened it and saw the heading "PROMOTIONAL LETTER," her face lit up, and a smile crept to her lips.

"You mean, this later was meant for me?" she blurted.

"Just go through it," Rex replied, smiling. Seeing Ava's countenance glittering made him satisfied; of course, he knew she would be amazed by the letter.

"Oh my goodness! I'm speechless. I love you so much, dear," she yelled, standing up from the chair and hugging Rex.

After she hugged him and appreciated him for the promotion, Rex glared at his wristwatch to check the time; he noticed it was almost nine o'clock.

"We have to go now, dear; it's late already," Rex told her.

They walked over to the counter, and the accountant offered them their bill receipt. After glaring at it for some seconds, Rex dipped his hand into his side bag and brought out the customized card his father had given him long ago.
