“How's that possible?” Lyra yelled over the phone, shocked by her mother's words. “Mother, why would Tyla do something like this!”

Martha chuckled softly, “I'm as surprised as you are, Lyra. To think that I took care of her for several years like my own.”

“Like your own?” Lyra whispered, her brows furrowed in confusion, “Mother, what do you mean?” she asked, wondering if her mother made the wrong choice of words.

Martha sighed, “I'll text you my location. I have a lot to tell you” she said, regretting the actions she made several years ago. Perhaps her husband was right. She really should have waited for God's timing. The same child she decided to help had stabbed her in the back.

“I'll be there in half an hour.” Lyra said as she hurriedly boarded a taxi.
