Veronica stood up smiling and shook hands with Mike. Then, she immediately wiped the smile off her face.

Then they sat down.

Veronica said, "Mr Lawton, we don't know each other. Why are you willing to help me? What do you want?"

The waiter poured a glass of wine for each of them. They chatted and savoured the wine.
