Chapter 5: The Tense Situation

"You bastard! How dare you throw your despicable hand in my face," Levi replied angrily.

Lexy, who saw her son get hit, felt upset. The woman said, "Bryce, how dare you. You dare to hit my son. You will get what you deserve."

Levi and Lexy were honestly very surprised by Bryce's actions. They knew that even if Bryce were bullied, the man would never retaliate with violence.

"Mum, I'm sorry, but I can't wait any longer. Rubbish men like Bryce will go downhill if left unchecked. I'm going to retaliate directly with my hand to let men like him know where they stand," Levi said with a hateful look.

Bryce was still silent there, the man staring at the two with a contemptuous look. He even did not reply to a single word of the words thrown at him.

The man calmly watched as Levi clenched his fists and stepped forward, trying to attack him. Although Levi's movements looked quite skilful for an amateur, in a split second, Bryce seemed to be able to see the pattern the man would take so that he could guess the attack easily.

"How could he dodge my punches?"

"Come here motherfucker! I will end you." Levi immediately threw a kick with a confident look on his face.

"I could read his movement," Bryce muttered.

He caught Levi's kick that made the man lose his balance, and reflexively, Bryce sent a slap with the back of his hand. The attack may have seemed trivial, but with the speed and strength Bryce concentrated into the back of his palm, it was more than enough to send Levi flying several metres away.

"Levi!" the woman screamed as she saw her son's condition stagger through the air before falling to the ground.

"Bryce, you will pay for this."

Lexy immediately stepped towards. She also gave Bryce a merciless glare. But something amazing happened.

Bryce also threw the same terrifying gaze as the woman. Even Bryce's gaze was much more like a killing machine that instantly made Lexy's whole body stiff and unable to move.

"What happened to me?"

No matter how hard the woman tried to move, she lost control of her body. Lexy, helpless in the end, directed every remaining energy to scream. The woman felt so scared being around Bryce. She had never seen her son-in-law like this before.

"HELP!" the woman's voice echoed throughout the building's parking lot.

Levi, who saw his mother helpless, then tried to get up. The man's body seemed numb, but he did not give up.

"Bryce, stop all this. If Veronica finds out you're torturing us like this, she'll hate you for the rest of her life," Levi shouted in a threatening tone.

Bryce, who heard his wife's name, instantly recalled all the sweet moments they shared. He remembers how his heart fell and how his life changed because of the love he felt. Veronica's love made Bryce finally feel like a complete man.

"I see it now."

Bryce instantly controlled his emotions. The aura that came out of his body slowly faded. It made the tense aura that had enveloped the place normal again.

Bryce saw his brother-in-law lying helplessly on the ground. The man realised that part of Levi's face was swollen from the attack he had made. Bryce even seemed to smile a little at that.

But soon, some security who had heard Lexy's screams finally rushed over and approached them.

Lexy, who felt weak, shouted, "Help me, help us, sir. That barbaric man just did something bad. You guys secure that man now," screamed Lexy, who did not give up on the situation.

The security leader who was between them was stunned. The man had been staring at Lexy and Levi's faces. He felt that the faces of the two people before him looked familiar.

There was no need to wait any longer; something felt connected in his brain. The security leader instantly realised who the woman lying there was.

"That woman is Veronica Carter's mother. Well, I'm sure of it. If it's true, this is a golden opportunity for me. My son is trying his luck by applying for a job at Miss Veronica's glorious company. If I can satisfy this woman's wishes, I might get lucky. My family's fortunes could change," the man mused happily.

Immediately, the security leader replied, "Take it easy, Miss Carter. I will try my best. You can consider this matter resolved."

The man then yelled to his fellow standing behind him, "You arrest and incapacitate that man. If he even resists, you may break his arms and legs."

Some of the security guards were stunned. Some of them even doubted the decision. But they had no choice but to follow the orders of their leader.

The security immediately swarmed Bryce from all directions. They all gave each other codes indicating they would ambush Bryce with one attack.

"You're all crazy. How can you follow that woman's orders without checking her words first?" Bryce protested against the ridiculousness he was facing.

"Shut up! It's obvious they are the oppressed victims here," the security leader responded.

"Take that man down now!" the man continued.

As the security guards were in the middle of launching an attack, the sound of a car entering the basement of the car park was heard with a loud honk. It instantly drew the attention of everyone, including Bryce, Levy, Lexy and the security guards.

A woman exited the car with high heels and a dress made by a famous designer with a limited edition series. The sound of her high heels now echoed as she stepped closer to the crowd.

The security guards were stunned. They realised who she was. She was the owner of the building complex.

The woman stepped gracefully and didn't even spare a glance. She continued to walk towards Bryce and greeted him warmly.

"Hello, Master Milano!"
