An attitude that is ready to accept the fight

12 hours, a long time for me to wait. My days may not be very meaningful, but I don't want to keep waiting. I've been made to wait so many times for something that wasn't even expected.

But, reality always ends up disappointing.

My face is fixed, staring at the pooled coffee, a gloomy face reflecting a lack of hope.

I contemplate whether my decision to play this game is right or not; perhaps it will be entertainment that does not give any benefits.

"How much longer do I have a chance to step forward? I think it's better if I just die now!"

I try to divert this thought by inhaling the fresh air from the terrace; the city life below my gaze is still quite bustling.

Always hoping that one of those busy people is me, but I'm not lucky enough to have that busyness.

Gulp...

Even the coffee accompanying me doesn't taste sweet, without sugar because I don't have enough money.

My tongue is bathed in a bitter taste, similar to my current life. I could just stand on the balcony and jump. Surely, people who know me won't bother to come just for a simple funeral.

For the remaining time, I try to open some web pages, searching for information about the game I'm playing.

There are some displays with tips for beginners, but the most reliable ones are, of course, the ones provided by the developers.

After reading for a while, something is missing; the explanations only focus on the game mechanics, how to defeat monsters, and some tricks to level up quickly.

"Why doesn't this website contain information about the monsters and the quantity of monsters?"

With this idea in mind, I immediately start exploring the web, and I find several sites discussing the monsters in the game.

Almost all the websites I open have similar content. Only monsters inhabit the game world, but they have only been faced by players.

"Huh... Aren't there any interesting monsters to encounter while playing the game?"

I mumble, triggering memories of facing that giant grasshopper. I quickly search for boss categories that can serve as a motivation.

One website shows boss categories, but strangely, only this website can reveal the types of bosses.

"Could it be because the game is newly released? No, the release date is almost a year ago; there should be around 2 million players writing or recording information about the game! Whatever, maybe I'm just too curious..."

Casually, I open the site, finding only a list, images, and the locations of these monsters.

One image I found is the giant mantis, which I had defeated before. That fits what I want.

"There are many boss areas in the game, and this is said to be continually added. I wonder how many there will be if the game continues for two years? No, that would be very difficult, a concept like this would also create new competitors! I just hope this game won't die like most online games..."

I playfully search for videos of players playing this game, and one video appears on the monitor screen.

And, it shows the word "Live," meaning the player is currently playing. Unfortunately, there are many viewers, almost 10 thousand.

My eyes narrow as I continuously watch the increasing number of viewers for that player.

"Surely the one playing is a woman who is showing off her body to attract viewers, or maybe a celebrity sponsored by the developer to promote the game!"

A quite monotonous marketing trick, but there's nothing wrong with checking it out.

Click...

The connection is made, and at that moment, the player is battling a monster. It's not that important, and my eyes start to squint.

Crash...

"This player's technique is quite impressive; she can maneuver using skills like that! And, the opponent she's facing is one of the powerful bosses..."

Previously, I briefly read information about the monster, the player was facing. The figure she faced is at level 40, and it can only be defeated if the player has a group, each with a level of 30. But here, she's doing it alone without the help of others.

"In other words, she has a much higher level than that monster!"

It only takes her 10 minutes to defeat the monster. It may seem long watching through the video, but playing the game directly, and defeating a boss monster takes a long time.

And, it depends on the player's equipment and abilities.

Luckily for me, didn't enter a game area with a Pay To Win tactic. In this game, everything is done fairly. Players can only buy special attributes that add uniqueness to equipment, and it's not too special, just as a wrapper that adds a unique impression.

"Have you seen it? I've successfully defeated this boss monster; it was really difficult! I almost died because of it, even though it's a game, the sensation it gives is real! My breath is still not calm..."

The broadcaster is a woman with an adorable voice, receiving many praises from the comments for her actions.

But, I'm not too interested in that; what makes it interesting is her combat ability.

My concentration is divided; I quickly turn off the video, choosing to contemplate with my hand stroking my chin.

"There are some interesting aspects in this game. And if I remember correctly, many monsters have combat abilities that are incomprehensible; they seem to have their own consciousness to act! Has the technology developed by the developers reached an unreachable level by competitors?"

To ensure this, I immediately log into the game.

Ignoring the weapon forging that will be ready in 3 hours from now.

"Look at that, is that a monster...?"

As usual, when I walk into the city, some people will look at me strangely.

"He has a character name; he must be a player!" his companion replies, pointing to my name displayed above my head.

I try to ignore that, associating only bad memories with the real world that often experiences racism.

My goal is in the western forest of Turnera; my hands continue to open and close to ensure this is a game mechanism.

"It's true that my body seems to be able to move as if living in this world. Not all games display a harmonious feeling like this!"

This turns out to be my advantage; I often fantasize about becoming a superhero with superpowers, and in this game, that can come true.

"All right, now let's find a monster that can be a companion for battle!"

Krsk...

Just as I enter a vast area, this strange sound makes me turn around, and indeed, there is a creepy figure with a staggering body.

"Undead, apparently. I didn't expect to fight the undead tonight, but indeed, if this game has various monsters..."

I immediately assume a ready position.
