Rebecca was on her way to get some more groceries to fill up her fridge when she got the call. After a heated argument with a man who had been trying to woo her for the past year, Rebecca had slammed the door shut and decided to do some stress shopping. “One of these days, Rebecca, I’ll get you! One of these days!” She heard him shout through her door. “I have a boyfriend! If you come down knocking on my door again, I’ll file a restraining order against you!” Rebecca had yelled back. “I’ll be back for you, Rebecca!” “Yeah, and if you come back, you’d never go back.” Rebecca muttered under her breath, wondering if scaring him with a knife would work to keep her out of his way. Eloise had a miscarriage scare. That was what she and Taron had rushed out to hear when they got to the hospital. Apparently, she had been bleeding and she panicked and called her husband who then panicked and called Taron while taking her to the hospital. The doctor had explained to Rebecca and
"Taron?" Rebecca asked as Taron picked up the calla. "Becca? Why do you sound so worried?" Taron sounded tired and Rebecca felt bad almost immediately. “I am so sorry, were you sleeping before I called?” Rebecca asked. “Yes, but I’ve been sleeping for quite some time already and you woke me up just in time.” Taron responded. “Just in time to do what?” Rebecca asked. “Just in time to talk to you.” Taron responded and Rebecca smiled a bit. “So, talk to me baby girl,” There were shuffling noises before Taron let out a sigh. “what happened? You sound like you’re down.” “I’m sorry, it’s just that something happened and I wanted to talk to you about it.” Rebecca said in a small voice. “Again, don’t apologize, we are in this together; tell me what happened exactly.” Taron said and Rebecca nodded before she realized that Taron could not see her. “So, Loraline called.” Rebecca said, as if expecting a reaction from Taron. “Who’s Loraline?” Taron asked. “H
Rebecca sighed as she got down from the plane. Her aunt had moved to Arkansas a few years back, and this was actually the first time that she was setting foot on the soil. She waited patiently for the ride that she had ordered and thought about what she was going to say to her family members throughout the whole thing. "Maybe we can start over, a fresh start, j forgive you." Rebecca said aloud and immediately realised how unoriginal that sounded. Reminded her of the sweet, innocent character, usually complete with blonde hair and blue eyes. Not that it was originality Rebecca was looking for. She just wanted things to become better, so that she could have people to identify with who had similar genetic qualities with her. It bothered Rebecca that she did not have a family. Until Taron came into her life, she was well and truly alone. A car stopped in front of her and the windows went down. "Rebecca Torres? Are you Rebecca Torres?" The older man in it asked and Rebecca sig
Loraline came back the next day, and Rebecca tried her best to ignore her cousin for being so terrible, but she could not take it when Loraline raised her legs up when she was sweeping. "How useless can you be?" Rebecca asked her cousin who stood up immediately to glare at her. "Excuse me?" Loraline said, standing up. "You heard me right, the day I came back home, you didn't come back until late at night, and you know that your mother is bedridden, what if I wasn't here?" Rebecca asked. She knew that her cousin was terrible, but it seemed like she had become much more worse over the years. "What is your deal with that?" Loraline asked. It was her house anyway. "I come here, bring you food and offer my help, and you just lay around uselessly, what does that say about you as a person?" Rebecca was angry. She could have been working in her clean, air conditioned office, or could have been with her wonderful boyfriend, but here she was with her annoying cousin who lived in
Rebecca was waiting for Loraline to make the wrong move. Ever since her cousin’s terrible attitude yesterday, all Rebecca needed was one chance to get into a fight with her cousin to put her in her place. Loraline went into Rebecca’s room with her hand on her hip, and the other behind her back. “You know, I need some money.” Loraline said, and Rebecca ignored her. “Please.” She eventually added when she saw that Rebecca had no interest in paying attention to her. “Come here and get me my purse.” Rebecca said and Loraline obeyed. “You know, coming here and lasting about is not what I would call help.” Loraline said after collecting the money from Rebecca. Rebecca’s eyes widened, as if in realisation. “Oh, it’s not?” Rebecca asked. “I’m sorry, how about you give me back my money and go and get a job?” “You know, I really hate you.” Loraline said, getting closer to Rebecca. “I’m not your greatest fan either, leave me alone and go and do what you have to do.” R
Taron's head was not in one place. He was discussing the future of one of his companies which was suddenly undergoing a loss, and not only that, but leak of information too. That meant that a trusted individual was ratting out, and Taron hated rats. Humans and the animals alike. "We've stopped the bleeding, sir." His doctor came out to tell him and Taron sighed as his worries became less. "Thank you, how is she doing?" Taron asked. "Luckily, no vital organs were hit." The doctor said and Taron sighed. "That's a miracle." Taron whispered. "Yes, but she has lost a lot of blood, and while the possibility of her dying due to that is low, there is a chance that she will pass out for a very long time." The doctor said. "How long are we talking about here? I need figured." Taron asked impatiently. "It might take a few hours to a few days." The surgeon looked away for a second. "Is she asleep right now?" Taron asked. The doctor looked down nervously. "No, actually,
I took the day off and decided to look after Rebecca personally. I knew it was something she could also do for me so I did not hesitate to make my decision. I wanted the day to be special for her, at least make her feel more of herself and forget about what happened. Maybe not forget about what happened because that would be hard but I could help take her mind off it.I knew how much my presence meant to her so I just wanted to stick around with her. She deserved it. I came up with the idea of making her dinner and I knew she would appreciate it so I went on with the preparations. I called work and answered the necessary calls and sent the necessary messages. I had to make sure everything was cleared and all my schedule was either canceled or rescheduled for another day.Making Rebecca happy was my priority right now and that was exactly where my mind was focused. “The meeting you rushed out from was called off after your departure sir, you will also need to conclude that,” the lad
Rebecca had mostly spent all the time that she had after coming back from that traumatizing visit in bed. Taron’s bed. What surprised her was the fact that they had not done anything sexual since her return. All he did was feed her, get maids to assist her during bath time and other things and she was extremely grateful for it. She had not known that she would eventually be in so much pain as the surgery seemed to be such a breeze for her. Rebecca was walking around, looking for what to do, as Taron had temporarily relieved her of her duties until she recovered fully, and she had a lot of people at her beck and call. “But I have a responsibility to the office.” Rebecca had said stubbornly when Taron told her not to think about leaving. “And I have a responsibility to my girlfriend. We’d see which responsibility would outweigh the other, won’t we?” Taron chuckled. “I’m so tired.” Rebecca said to one of the guards who stood behind her. “Maybe you should go in and lie dow
