Javier was walking around the place, wondering what to do about his situation. To fight, or to flee? He asked himself as he paced around the house. He was definitely in love with Selena, but he had never been an accomplice to something as grace as this. Attempted murder. Sure, it had been quite a while since the incident and all, but he was still worried about it. What if something like this happens again? Selena did not act as if she was a stranger to doing something like that when they talked about it. "What if she does this thing again?" He asked himself as he moved around, wondering if his life was worth all the money that she believed that they would get. After all, there was no insurance that she would allow him to remain alive after they got the money. And knowing Selena, she would find a way to collect it all from him, and it was not as if if he died, people will know about it. And if people knew about it, what would they do? Javier briefly contemplated his choices.
Rebecca got surprised when she heard their voices as they were talking about their family and the issues that they had, and so she got up to greet them. Eloise came in, walking elegantly, and Anthony was behind her, poised. They looked so young, that no one would normally believe that this was Taron's mother, and this man had children as old as her. "Rebecca, my darling!" Eloise exclaimed and went on to embrace Rebecca with a long hug. "It's so good to see you, I've missed you so much!" Rebecca replied. "And you look so wonderful, I need to know your secret." "Ah, this girl, she flatters me." "Unless if flattery is defined as the truth of things, you know?" Rebecca gave her charming smile, and Anthony laughed as he went forward to hug her. "Rebecca is only saying the truth, my dear," Anthony said, hugging her lightly. "and how are you, Rebecca?" "Actually, I'm fine, thank you for asking, the whole spell has passed now, and I'm back to being just me." She nodded.
"Taron? Can you hear me?" Rebecca asked. "Yes I can, what is going on over there?" "There are people here to see you, and I think you would want to see what is going on, and who they are." Rebecca said, her voice low. "Why are you whispering?" Taron asked Rebecca, wondering if everything was okay. "Taron, come out!" She said and disconnected. Taron looked at his mom and Anthony. “What is going on?” Eloise asked, and Taron shrugged, not knowing what to say. “Well, you should go and see what is going on, we will be right here, waiting for you to get back.” Anthony said, and Taron nodded before going out. “Hello, Mr McCarthy.” Taron froze as he heard Selena’s voice. What was she doing here? And the man that she was with— Taron could recognize the face of that man anywhere, as he looked just like his late, old friend, Pablo Hernandez. “Javier? Javier Hernandez?” Taron asked in surprise, and the man beside Selena just nodded gravely, and without a word.
“What just happened here?” Anthony asked, extremely confused. “I’m going after them, I have to.” Taron said and immediately left to follow them. Rebecca pushed a button and asked the security to make sure that no one left the gates of the building. “Rebecca, please wait and let us know about what’s going on!” Eloise said and Rebecca shook her head. “Not yet, I have to go and join Taron to handle the terrible people in here.” Rebecca said and rushed to the stairs because the lift was already in use. Eloise and Anthony looked at each other, extremely worried. “What do you think is going on, Anthony?” Eloise asked, and Anthony sighed. “What do you know about your son’s wealth, my love?” He asked her, and she shrugged. “I don’t know how to answer that, but I know that he is loaded, one of the richest in the world now.” Eloise nodded and Anthony shook his head. “No, I was asking if you knew how he got his wealth, I should have phrased the question properly.” Anth
Taron was frustrated. It was like whatever it was that Selena had unleashed on him was working perfectly. One of his companies was trending online, but for wrong reasons, where he was accused of overworking and underpaying his workers, in spite of being one of the biggest in the world. It was not as bad as a personal scandal, but it was a terrible thing in itself. People were calling the heads of the offices and Taron out, and the HR of the affected company had already planned to make videos to convince the public that it was all a lie. People who Taron had turned their businesses down when Taron refused to partner with them were there too, and for some reason, Taron felt that this was only the beginning of it all, and he wasn’t sure of what to make of his foreboding. Rebecca had been doing her best to make things easier, but that didn’t stop his thoughts from running wild. But as he had seemed to lose himself in worry more often than usual, she took up most of the managing work,
Things were disturbing Taron left and right and he had no choice but to continue with what he had to do, and he didn’t want anyone else to worry. Eloise called as he was driving, but he didn’t pick up his phone until he got to work. Then he called her back. Taron!” Eloise sounded like she was just relieved of something. “You had me so worried, where did you go?” “I didn’t actually go anywhere, mom, I was driving, so I could not pick up the phone.” Taron said and Eloise muttered somethings before she finally started to speak. “I was just talking to Anthony, and we were thinking of ways to support, and he told me that he would send someone over to you.” Eloise said. “Send someone over to me? Why? And what is the person going to do for me?” Taron asked. “I don’t know, which is why he would also be on his way soon, he’s just getting ready, this is not my place of understanding, you know? All I know is that you’re going to get aid, and that’s good.” Eloise said. “Okay m
Taron was tired out of his mind. After Anthony left his office, he had a lot of phone calls to receive, and eventually, he ended up hiding from the rest of them, because it was overwhelming. He was in and over his head, and so were they. "Let me rest!" He groaned as his phone started ringing for the umpteenth time, and he reached out, grabbed the phone, and threw it against the wall. The phone hit the wall, and he heard a crack as it fell to the ground, and pieces of glass fell too. Rebecca rushed inside with a worried look on her face. "What was that?" She asked, when she saw Taron all alone in the room and followed his line of sight, and sighed. "Oh Taron, I told you that you needed to get some sleep, you know?" "I'm not sleepy." Taron said as Rebecca went to the mess and picked up his phone, hissing as glass pricked her skin. Taron got up and hurried towards her. "Don't hurt yourself, I still need you more than anything else." Rebecca looked up and when she looked b
She closed her compact mirror sharply and frowned. Why did she care if any of these men thought I’d she looked okay? It wasn’t as if they could see how much she detested them, but she needed them to give her their assistance, anyway. “Boys, good thing that you’re here to see me!” Selena exclaimed, raising up her hands. She was happy to plant confusion into their minds. She had not been with any of them, but calling them boys would only inflate their egos and make them tell each other false stories about them having affairs with her. “Well, you asked to see us for business, and here we are.” One of them said, and Selena sent a blinding smile his way. Whatever his name was. She did not bother to learn their names. “Yes, I have a very wonderful proposal for you, but there are terms and conditions,” She said, and saw how disinterested they looked. “it involves the McCarthy’s businesses, just so you know, so you might want to look a tad bit happier.” She said, and they all look
