Selena could barely contain her heart with how fast it was beating. She had just decided to board the first flight to Florida. She had been thinking about her father for way too long, and the superstitious part of her felt like she had reason to believe that her father was in grave danger, or perhaps, about to die. Selena blamed that side on her late mother. Although she did not believe in such tales, she was driven to the edge and had to go and see him. She had to know, know if the way he had treated her all those years were genuinely out of hatred for her on his part, or if he truly loved her and that was the only way he knew how to enforce discipline.
