“Is this serious?” Everyone present exchanged glances. They thought this was going to be nothing more than a ridiculous spectacle.

Everyone knew that the Moonstone family had disappeare years ago. It was impossible for Calvin to have a lot of money.

Restoring the Moonstone family's wealth within just five years was something unthinkable—especially since Calvin had been nothing more than a low-ranking soldier.

“Stop this nonsense!” Brian shouted in anger.

He was convinced that this was a scam.

Calvin looked toward his men. His gaze fell on Jacob’s hands. “Uncover it.”

Everyone nodded in unison. They immediately removed the cloth covering the items they had brought.

Calvin gave a slight nod. As instructed by his master, the man also signaled the others to reveal the contents.

All at once, Calvin's soldiers lifted the covers.

The guests’ eyes widened in shock as they took in the sight before them.

It was astonishing. Countless dazzling jewels were displayed, their brilliance filling the room with a mesmerizing glow.

Just like the others, Brian’s eyes widened, and he swallowed hard. But deep in his heart, doubt filled his mind.

“This is impossible.”

The man shook his head firmly, his sharp gaze locked onto Calvin. “I know that all of this jewelry is fake.”

“Don't even dream of taking my daughter as your wife.” Brian pointed directly at Calvin’s face. “To hell with that agreement. Claire will never marry you!” he declared firmly.

Hearing Brian’s words, the crowd grew agitated.

Considering that the Moonstone family had been destroyed, it was impossible for Calvin to have the wealth to buy all of this. Doubt filled their minds as they questioned the authenticity of the jewelry on display.

“Yes, those could very well be fake jewels! He’s just an ordinary soldier. There’s no way he could afford all of this,” Steve shouted, adding fuel to the fire.

“How dare you try to take my daughter with fake jewelry!” Brian glared at Calvin, his fury burning brighter. “You are an insolent man. And I am certain you will only bring my daughter misery.”

Steve laughed triumphantly. “Tell us, how long have you been planning this, you fool?”

“Buying and presenting fake goods—this is nothing short of an insult to the Jones family.” The man emphasized each word with disdain.

Calvin remained remarkably calm, unfazed by the pressure they were trying to exert on him. “All of the jewelry is real. They come with their certificates,” he explained.

Knowing that everyone would doubt his words, Calvin glanced at Jacob, giving him a silent signal through his gaze.

Jacob immediately understood. He extended his hand, and one of his subordinates quickly placed a stack of certificates in it. After receiving them, Jacob handed them over to Calvin.

Calvin raised several jewelry certificates. “You can see for yourselves.”

All eyes turned to the documents in Calvin’s hands, and a wave of shock spread through the room. “Are those really authentic?”

Bobby clenched his fists, realizing that this situation was dangerous for him.

But he refused to stay silent. He wouldn’t let Calvin gain their trust. He shouted, “You can’t let Claire marry that man!”

“Claire will only marry me,” Bobby declared firmly, his gaze locking onto Brian, unwilling to let him betray their arrangement. “Otherwise, you’ll have to deal with the Anderson family.”

He emphasized his words, knowing that the Jones family was far beneath the Andersons in status. They would have no choice but to submit.

Bobby then turned his attention to Calvin. “If you go against me, you go against the Anderson family.”

Calvin, however, ignored Bobby’s words. He didn’t care in the slightest. Even the Anderson family's status was nothing for him to worry about.

His gaze locked onto Jacob, giving a subtle hand gesture that his soldier immediately understood.

Jacob stepped forward, revealing the stack of cash he carried. “This is the $20 million you requested, Master Calvin.”

Bobby’s eyes widened in shock. He clutched his head. “What?”

He shook his head, unable to believe what he was seeing. His plan to marry Claire was about to fall apart.

Calvin adjusted his shirt casually. “Everything is settled. Claire will be my wife.”

Brian clenched his fists, his eyes twitching as he processed the situation. Even though Calvin had managed to produce $20 million, Brian still saw their statuses as vastly different.

The idea of his daughter marrying Calvin did not sit well with him.

The Moonstone family had fallen, and Brian was convinced that this was the last of their wealth. He wouldn’t let his daughter suffer a miserable life after marriage.

“No. You will not marry Claire.” Brian’s voice boomed, making Claire, who had been smiling, turn toward her father in shock.

She looked at him in confusion. “Father, Calvin has given you the money. We should be able to marry.”

Brian raised a hand, his gaze sharp and unwavering. “No. Status is everything. He does not hold a high enough position, and he is not worthy of becoming a son-in-law of the Jones family.”

Brian looked down on Calvin, a sneer forming on his lips. “Everyone will see him as someone from a ruined family. This is not an ideal marriage for the only daughter of the Jones family.”

“If this marriage actually happens, he will only bring you shame.” Brian emphasized his words to Claire.

The young woman exhaled deeply before shaking her head. “Father, that’s not a big deal.”

Steve couldn’t hold back his frustration, thinking his cousin was being utterly foolish. “Claire, where is your mind? You should be choosing to marry into the Anderson family rather than suffering a miserable life with that poor man.”

“He won’t just fail to provide you with a decent life—he won’t even be able to give you honor. Right now, he doesn’t even have a family name.” Brian’s gaze pierced into his daughter.

“The Moonstone family still exists. And I will rebuild it.” Calvin’s words rang with unwavering determination.

Brian burst into laughter, unable to contain his amusemen. “Are you joking?”

Calvin’s expression remained firm. “I have returned to deal with those who destroyed my family.” His words were filled with weight.

“Damn your ambitions. That is impossible.” The old man’s face twisted with fury.

He raised his hand, pointing directly at Calvin. “No matter what, you will never marry my daughter!” Brian shouted his rejection.

“I have come with $20 million and countless jewels for your family.” Calvin pulled Claire closer to him. “As per our agreement, I will be taking her with me.”

Calvin looked at Claire, and after she nodded, they immediately turned and walked away. Their steps were followed by several of his men.

Brian watched them leave with frustration. The fact that his daughter chose that man over her own family filled him with rage. “Claire, stop right there, or you will no longer be a part of the Jones family.” His voice carried a sharp threat.

Claire glanced back briefly, feeling a deep pain in her heart. But she stood firm in her decision.

“You bastard! You took my daughter away! Useless scum!” Brian’s furious shouts echoed behind them as they walked away.

Steve turned to Brian. “Let her go. I’m sure that once Claire realizes her mistake, she’ll come crawling back, begging to return to the Jones family.”
