"That's my wedding invitation," Fiona announced, her voice trembling, her eyes brimming with tears. "I'm getting married to Michael in two weeks, and I'm already showing. I suggested going out of the country to give birth until we resolved the issue, but dad insisted on a quick wedding."

Charlie's mouth hung open in disbelief, his eyes wide with shock. "So no one is telling me anything anymore? You guys are starting to do this without involving me?" he exclaimed, his voice rising in anger.

He opened the card, his hands shaking with rage, and then dropped it on the table, as if it were a hot coal. "I can't believe this," he muttered, his mind racing with thoughts of betrayal and hurt.

Fiona turned to leave, her eyes cast down, her shoulders slumped in defeat. "I should get going, we have a lot of things to plan for the wedding," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
