‘’Liam, your mother loved and please don’t blame her but her father used to threaten her so badly. Saying he would lock her away in a mental hospital if she ever goes looking for you.’’

Liam says nothing.

‘’As her assistant, I secretly sent money to your father but he would always send it back and he moved from where he previously lived, so it was hard to find you and them. Your mother wrote letters, and he never replied.’’

Liam still remains silent, remembering to a time he saw his father with a shoebox full of letters. He got mad at Liam when he had asked who they were from and burn them.

‘’Your mother knew about your father’s cancer and that was the only help he had accepted because he didn’t want to leave you and your brother on your own.’’

Liam finally speaks. ‘’I always wondered how he could offer such medical care even though we were poor and how come he was buried.’’

‘’Your mother tried to help in every way she could. Most times he would accept and other times…’’
