At the end of the eight-hour flight, the plane touched down at the airport. Arriving safely at his business conference destination. Vere went straight to the hotel where he would be staying. The hotel staff greeted him, he checked in and he was accompanied by a staff member to show him his room.
As he settled into his room, Vere took a deep breath and his thoughts kept drifting back to Mira and what he saw when he was headed to the airport.
"Maybe I should call her," he mumbled to himself. Vere grabs his phone but in perfect timing there's an incoming call from Mira.
"Hey babe, I was just about to call you," Vere said, relieved to hear her voice. "Is everything okay?" Mira asked, her voice laced with concern.
Vere went on to explain the situation and how he felt it was necessary to hire bodyguards for their home while he was away. Mira listened intently and agreed that it was a good idea.
“Mira, I know that you weren't expecting to have to hire bodyguards so soon, but I think it's important.”
“I saw your ex-husband, Mr. Perry, near our house on my way to the airport and I think it's best if we get some extra security for you and your family too.”
“I want you to be safe while I'm away on my business trips,” Vere added. "I want you to feel secure knowing that you have protection," Vere concluded. "I don't want anything to happen to you or your family, and we will talk more regarding this in my return" Vere said firmly.
Mira didn't say anything other than to thank her husband Vere.
"Thank you, my love, Mira," said.
"I really appreciate it," she added with a gentle smile.
After the call ended, Vere finally felt at ease. He knew Mira was safe and that he could focus on his conference without any worries.
As the days passed, Vere attended his conference and explored the city, all while keeping in touch with Mira. When it was time to head back home, he felt more confident than ever before, knowing that their home was safe and secure.
That day it was Vere’s flight going to Bormio, but when Vere arrived at the airport, he saw something unexpected. It’s Mr. Perry, Mira's ex-husband, who accompanied bodyguards, and unexpectedly crossed their paths. It wasn't intentional, but their eyes met and there was a meaningful exchange of glances.
Afterward, Mr. Perry's group left, and Vere went straight to the boarding area where the private jet was waiting. Vere feels a sense of unease after the meeting. Vere has thoughts on his mind about seeing Mr. Perry, if that's just a coincidence or intentional.
He had a thought that maybe there was more of this coming and for that unexpected reunion and meeting their eyes with the meaning of Mr. Perry's looks.
As the jet was preparing to take off, Vere decided to call Mira to tell her about his departure and he mentioned the unexpected encounter between him and Mr. Perry.
"Hey, you wouldn't believe this”, Vere started carefully, “Guess what, and who I met coincidently at the airport.”
Mira's voice sounded curious on the other end of the line.
"Who was it, Vere?" "It was Mr. Perry," Vere replied, his tone filled with uncertainty. "Our eyes met strangely, meaningfully, and he had his bodyguards with him."
There was a moment of silence at the other end, and then Mira spoke, her voice tinged with concern.
"This is odd. I wonder what he's up to."
Vere nodded, though Mira couldn't see him.
"Exactly. I don't have any clue to what this means or exactly why our paths cross unexpectedly.”
The flight attendant crew announced that the jet was about to take off, so Vere says goodbye to Mira and ends their call.
As the flight continued, Vere considered that this time as they were both in the air it was only like a bumpy ride. But this unexpected meeting would start a chain of events between Mr. Perry and Vere.
Once the jet had landed, Vere immediately disembarked and went straight to the area where passengers collect their luggage. After getting his luggage, he quickly walked towards the parking area.Unfortunately, when he arrived at his car, Mr Perry's group were ready to depart.Vere quietly spoke to himself, wondering where Mr. Perry was going. He got into his car without delay and instructed his driver to follow Mr Perry's vehicle and bodyguards.
As Vere's car merged into traffic, he couldn't shake the feeling that this unexpected pursuit would lead him down a path filled with uncertainty and intrigue. Little did he know that he was about to uncover secrets that would change the course of his life in ways he never could have imagined.
The drive continued for miles, with Mr. Perry's car weaving through the city's labyrinthine streets. Vere's heart raced as he maintained a discreet distance, trying not to arouse suspicion. It was a tense and silent chase, with only the hum of the engines breaking the quiet of the night.
Finally, Mr. Perry's car pulled up to an upscale hotel, valet attendants rushing to open doors and usher the occupants inside. Vere's car discreetly parked a short distance away, and he watched as Mr. Perry and his entourage entered the hotel's opulent lobby.
"What is he up to?" Vere whispered to himself, his curiosity growing with each passing moment. He had to find out what had brought Mr. Perry to this hotel and what secrets lay hidden within its luxurious walls.
A moment later, Vere's phone rang. It was Mira calling. Vere instructed his driver first to leave the place and he answered the call.
"Vere, where are you?" Mira sounded worried and impatient. I've been waiting for you, and you haven't still made it home yet. What's happening?"
Vere tried to reassure her, "I'm sorry, Mira." Something unexpected happened, and I'm running late. I'll be home soon. I'm on my way," Vere answered patiently.
"I'm so glad you're okay. Mira sighed with relief while talking to him on the phone. “Be safe, okay? I was worried and was very concerned."
"I will, Mira," Vere assured her. "I'm on my way home now and will talk when I get there but for now, please understand that I have to take care of an unexpected urgent matter."
As Vere ended the call, he was torn between his obligation to Mira and the urge to uncover the secrets behind Mr. Perry's conduct. He was on the verge of discovering something important, a path he had to pursue.
He had no idea that the answers he sought would cross him into a world filled with danger, mystery, and a maze of undisclosed information that would examine his bravery and commitment.
As the car approaching near Veres home, Vere couldn't help but be troubled by thoughts racing through his mind. What secrets could this place be hiding, and why was Mr. Perry, Mira's ex-husband, also present in a location that he and Mira had chosen for its presumed tranquility, far away from the haunting memories of their past?
Finally, Vere reached his home. He got out of his car and met the security staff and Detective Lee. Without any delay, he walked straight into the lounge where Mira, his wife, awaited him.
On that fateful night, as Vere reclined in his favorite armchair, he and his wife, Mira, engaged in a whispered conversation that held a sense of urgency. The decision to hire bodyguards had been an abrupt one, and Mira's curiosity burned as she leaned in closer. Vere's brow furrowed as he began to explain, "Mira, there's something unsettling about what I've witnessed lately. It all started at the airport when our eyes locked with Mr. Perry's. There was a significance in that moment, something unspoken but deeply felt." Mira's eyes widened with intrigue, her voice filled with concern, "What do you mean, Vere? You've never been one to act on mere hunches." Vere sighed, his gaze distant as he continued, "I know, but these occurrences have been building up. It's not just Mr. Perry; I've noticed strangers lurking in the shadows, watching our every move. I have this ominous feeling that we are being monitored.” Mira leaned in, her hand finding him in the dimly lit room, a mixture of
That day, the couple had just left the cozy cafe and went straight to the car that was parked in the parking area of the cafe. As Vere and Mira settled in the car still they could see from a distance in the mirror of the cafe of Mr. Perry's eyes looking at them as its gaze lingered on them, making them both uneasy. "Do you think he's just being friendly or is there something more to it?" Mira whispered, her voice filled with concern. As they are heading home while on the road Vere's eyes flicked to the rearview mirror, where he caught a glimpse of a dark car trailing them a little too closely. His heart quickened. "Vere there's a car behind us”, Mira said. "Yeah, I noticed it too. It's strange. We must be careful", Vere added. As they continued along the winding road leading to their mansion, the dark car maintained its relentless pursuit. Vere's knuckles turned white as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel. They exchanged worried glances, anxiety gnawing at their nerves.
Days turn into months. The situation is getting better and there were no imminent threats from Mr. Perry. So, Vere and Mira began to feel a sense of relief. With the tension somewhat eased, Vere and Mira plan the trip and their decision to visit their parents. On that day, the married couple was busy preparing for their departure from the mansion. And they decided to take four security personnel with them on their trip, including Detective Lee. Although the situation had calmed down, but still had to assure their safety. "Mira, are you ready?" Vere inquired; his wife engrossed in her primping. "Yes, I'm done. Let's go," Mira replied, a sense of determination in her voice. As Vere and Mira stepped out of the mansion, their waiting vehicle, a sleek black car, was parked right at the entrance. Their four bodyguards, including Detective Lee, were already on standby. The couple got into the car, ready for their journey to the airport. Vere's private plane was waiting, and they boa
That day, after Vere and James had their conversation at the office, he quickly headed home to the mansion where his wife, Mira, awaited his return. Upon arriving at the mansion, Vere made his way straight to the living room, where Mira and Vere's mother were engrossed in watching television. "Are you ready, Mira?" Vere asked. Mira looked up, a hint of surprise in her eyes, and responded, "Oh, Vere, you're back so soon?" Vere nodded and smiled, keeping his tone casual. He didn't want to let them know what was going on that James had shared some sensitive information with him, especially with his mother present. "Yeah, James and I just had a quick conversation at the office," Vere replied, choosing his words carefully. Mira, sensing that something might be amiss, decided to play along. "Oh, alright then, wait and I have to prepare myself," she said, with her excited tone to see her parents. While Vere waited for Mira, he took the opportunity to speak with his mother. "Mom,
The morning sun spilled warm, golden rays into the cozy dining room of the Fuentez family's house. Vere sat at the table with his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Fuentez, and his wife, Mira, having some breakfast. After They had just finished a delightful meal, Vere knew it was time to say his goodbyes. Pushing his plate aside, Vere cleared his throat and addressed his family. "Mom, Dad, Mira, I'm heading back to the city today. There are some urgent things I need to take care of. I can't seem to sleep well lately, especially after those dangerous threats from Mr. Perry." Mira looked at her husband, her eyes filled with concern. "You're leaving already Vere? Can't you stay a bit longer?" Vere smiled gently, his love for Mira evident in his eyes. "You're here with your parents, my love. Enjoy your time with them. As soon as I return, promise you we'll have all the time in the world to bond, okay?" With a nod, Vere kissed his wife on the forehead and stood up from the table. H
When Vere arrived at the mansion where his mother was engrossed in watching a show, he greeted her, saying, "Hello, Mom, I'm back." His mother inquired, "Where's Mira?" Vere responded, "I need to leave her with her parents, Mom, so she can spend quality time with her family. While I am taking care of some things," Vere answered. At that moment, Vere informs his mom to increase the security at their home. He carefully explained the reason, considering his mother's health, and assured her not to worry. He mentioned that he believed it was necessary to enhance security due to their changed circumstances and his newfound fame as a billionaire. He emphasized that was the only reason, keeping the real purpose involving Mr. Perry a secret from his mother. After a few conversations with his mother, Vere says goodbye to his mother and goes to his room to rest. Suddenly while he was lying in his bed, he felt the chill-filled air in the room, and it sent shivers down his spine. During th
Vere found himself unintentionally dozing off while watching television on the comfortable couch during the early morning hours. As he lay there, his cell phone suddenly sprang to life, silently vibrating and casting a subtle glow across the room with its screen. An unknown caller's name blinked on the display, causing Vere to briefly hesitate. However, the thoughts of Mira, his beloved, swiftly overcame his momentary uncertainty, and he quietly chose to answer the call. His response was a soft-spoken, "Hello," tinged with both curiosity and concern. The voice on the other end, identified as Mira, replied, "Dear, it's me," yet it was evident from the slurred speech that she had been indulging in some drinks. Vere's heart quickened its beat. "Mira, sweetheart," Vere confessed, his voice filled with relief upon hearing her voice, "I've been so worried about you." Mira let out a soft, slightly slurred chuckle. "I used my friend's cell phone, it's Ivie's number, we had some shopping
On that fateful day, Vere was stunned by the unexpected turn of events. His heart weighed heavy with remorse for what had happened to Mira. Nevertheless, amid the turmoil, both he and Red were steadfast in their commitment to keep searching the dense, overgrown terrain. They made the difficult decision to split up briefly, thinking it might improve their chances of finding Mira sooner. Vere wasted no time and suddenly he heard Red shouting “She here”. Vere hurried in the direction of Red's voice. When he reached the place where Mira lay, his heart sank at the sight before him. Mira was unconscious; her injuries were extensive. Tears welled up in Vere's eyes as he rushed to his wife's side, desperately trying to rouse her. "Mira, please wake up.", but Mira remained unresponsive. Though she still had a pulse, her condition was critical. With no cell phone signal in the area, Red took it upon himself to rush to a nearby station center in search of help. The minutes seemed to drag on en
