SLAPPED ON THE FACE

The road ahead felt dark and lonely even though the sun was still up and shining. Ashton made his way through several people that occupied the road with rage burning inside of him.

At first, it was anger, then it soon developed into self hatred. But after a while, it dissolved into emptiness.

He felt like an empty vessel as he walked down the road with his hands buried into the depth of his pocket.

The sky was a beautiful light blue with white smokish clouds floating about and the way everything came together to make a beautiful picture, including the birds that flew around in the farthest part of the sky making them look like little floating objects, it could make a sad person feel better just by looking at it.

But Ashton didn't even see the specialty in it at the moment, what he felt was the sun beating down on him heavily-- even though it wasn't that heavy-- and a bunch of birds flying about aimlessly in the cloud that hurt his eyes a little when he tried to look at it.
