“Thank you so much Barrister Paul. We weren’t expecting things to go so smoothly or for the case to be so easily resolved,” Gregory said to the lawyer after the judge’s final verdict.

He had hope. Since the case didn’t turn out as Jack probably wanted, they had a chance of getting back their shares from him. They may have signed the share transfer documents but there was a one week period for such transactions to be overruled.

“You really shouldn’t thank me. It was Mr. Bolton who handled everything. Honestly, when the coroner’s first report came, there was no cyanide poisoning but then I got a call from Mr. Bolton in the wee hours of this morning to meet up with the coroner and his reports had changed,” Barrister Paul replied.

Laurel and Gregory’s hearts suddenly started to pound hard in their chest. What game was Jack playing? What was his aim? Laurel immediately remembered Jack’s promise and he began to sweat.
