CHAPTER 40

Could it be true? Rylan thought to himself.

A strange woman had come into his office a few hours ago to warn him about an intended murder. It was supposed to be his murder. Rylan hadn’t seemed fazed by this when she had first told him, but things about it now brought him great worry. There was doubt that the casino owners wouldn’t be pleased with the fact that their business would have to be shut down. And coming after him was justified. But that wasn’t going to change his mind. There was no room for them in his plans, and so they would have to move away. That was the only solution.

Now sitting in his huge living room, Rylan crossed his legs and leaned further on the couch. He was staring at the fireplace which wasn’t lit. He had just returned from work, and his suit jacket lay on the couch. The sleeves of his undershirt were folded, and he had a glass of scotch in his hand.

What could he do about them? Rylan had no idea. It seemed like every new week, there was a different threat
