Lucas's Confusion

Lucas made sure he woke up early and left his house before Lilly. He did this to avoid any questions about his previous breakdown. He was not ready to face her, because he knew she would pester him to talk about what caused the anxiety.

He went straight into the Laboratory when he got to the company. He decided he needed to discuss with joy about his terrible dream, but their meetings would be in secret. The ladies in the office welcomed him cheerfully and he was surprised with their reactions. He thought the accusations led against him by Frederick would deter them from him, but it made the number of ladies who were interested in him increase.
