Moment in the Jungle

His mom was still asleep and Joy was rubbing her cheeks tenderly when he rushed in. Joy looked agitated as she saw his restless expression, “ What happened? Why did you rush in like you were being chased?” She questioned.

“ Of course I was being chased. Why would I barge in like a mad man if everything is okay? We need to leave here at this minute, and we aren't leaving without my mother” he said authoritatively. He disconnected the long drip connected to the cannula on his mother's arm.

“ Whoa! Aren't you being dramatic and getting ahead of yourself? How can we leave when your mother hasn't recovered? She is still unconscious, for crying out loud!” Joy screamed, forgetting the patient on the bed.

“ Can you please listen to me for once without dragging words with me?” He shouted, thinking Joy would at least be scared, but she didn't move from her seat.
