ROSE'S CONFESSION

CHAPTER

Kathryn was driving down the road one evening when she saw Rose standing in front of a mall. Intrigued, she parked her car and walked up to her old friend. It had been years since they last saw each other, and Kathryn was eager to catch up.

"Rose! Is that you?" Kathryn exclaimed, a smile spreading across her face.

Rose turned to face Kathryn, her eyes widening with surprise. "Kathryn! Oh my goodness, it's been forever! How have you been?"

The two friends embraced tightly, holding onto each other as if they were making up for lost time. After a few moments, they separated and found a nearby bench to sit on, ready to dive into their conversation.

"I've been good, Rose," Kathryn began, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "Life has been... complicated lately."

Rose looked at Kathryn, concern etched on her face. "What do you mean, complicated? You don't look like your usual vibrant self. Is everything alright?"
