Rose," Taylor said gently, "do you truly love me?" He tried to ask directly.

Rose took a deep breath and hesitated for a moment before nodding her head slowly. "Yes," she said softly.

Taylor leaned in closer, his eyes searching hers for any hint of deception. He couldn't be sure if Rose loved him or not.

He decided to ask her again, just to be sure. "Are you sure, Rose?" he asked. "Do you love me?"

Rose's expression changed, and her eyes filled with uncertainty. "I don't know," she said unconsciously.

Taylor felt a pang of disappointment in his chest, but he didn't give up. "Why not?" he asked, intrigued.

Rose looked down at her hands, fidgeting nervously. "I've never really loved any man," she said finally.

Taylor leaned back in his seat, surprised by her admission. "Why not?" he asked gently.

Rose took a deep breath and looked up at him.
