THE CHANGE

Jakes and Stephanie couldn't help but feel a pang of discomfort when they saw Michael standing at the gate of the Allisons' house. It's been a while since they saw him and they knew he was always out for trouble.

Ignoring him, they quickly made their way to Jakes' car and got in, trying not to let their discomfort show. As they drove away, they could see Michael watching them from the gate, his face twisted in confusion and hurt.

Once they were out of earshot, Jakes let out a sigh of relief. "I wonder what he'll be up to this time," he said.

Stephanie nodded in agreement. "Same here. All my life I've known him as dangerous. He has no other name than that." She said.

As they drove away, Michael was left standing alone at the gate, feeling hurt and angered by their cold reception.

He made his way into the Allisons' house to find his parents. He was surprised to find Mrs Allison greeting him with a warm smile as if nothing was wrong.
