THE KIDNAP

"You have to submit these documents at " The Legends" first thing this morning. I must get this contract for the company." Micheal told his Secretary.

Michael was the Head of Personnel, at "The Class of Verity" and he was desperate to get the contract placed in the market by "The Legends" so that he could climb up to become the CEO at The Class of Verity, "so he sent his secretary to submit a proposal for the company.

"Okay, Sir. I'll be on my way now." Linda, Micheal's secretary replied, as she rushed out of the office.

"Miss Linda, we have filed your company's proposal, until we receive a letter from the company's chosen guarantor," May said.

May was "The Legends" General Secretary, and she had just collected the proposal from Linda. She was about to submit it at the MD's office when she found out that no guarantor's letter was submitted alongside.

"I am a secretary from 'The Class of Verity'," Linda emphasized. She felt May did not hear her the first time, because every staff from "The Class of Verity" was well recognized and given some special treatment wherever they went.

"I have just submitted all that was requested..." Linda continued.

"Yes, except for your company's guarantor letter." May interrupted. May was very strict and meticulous at her job, and she always made sure that she followed all laid down principles by the company, with no iota of sentiment.

"Every applicant must have a letter from a guarantor. And the guarantor must be a top official at 'The Legends' before your proposal could be submitted or accepted."

"Alright then. Spare me some minutes." Linda said as she moved out of the office to make a call.

"Hello, sir. I was just told that the company would need to submit a guarantor's letter alongside the proposal. And the guarantor is expected to be a top official at  'The Legends'."

"This is senseless! I know no one at 'The Legends'!" Micheal said as he hung up the call, looking very perturbed. He sat down to think of a way out, so he decided to call his Mum.

"She's well connected in this city, and I'm sure she will know someone relevant in the company," Michael said to himself, as he took up his phone to call his Mum. When they were done speaking, Mrs Allison picked up her phone to call a top staff at "The Legends."

"Hello, Mrs Allison," a male voice spoke at the other end.

"George, I'll need you to stand in as a guarantor for 'The Class of Verity'. We need to get a contract at your company urgently." Mrs Allison went straight to the point.

"Of recent, the process of getting the contract has become more complex. For anyone to stand in as a guarantor for the recently placed contract, he or she is expected to have served with 'The Legends,' for nothing less than ten years, and I'm just five years in the company."

"Agr... Isn't there any other means you can help our company in getting this contract?"

"I'm sorry, Mrs Allison. I don't think there is." George replied as he hung up the phone.

Mrs Allison looked very worried as she walked through the corridor of her fashion house. Mr Allison had travelled outside the country on a business trip, and he wasn't going to return for two weeks.

The Class of Verity was in a financial mess, and Mrs Allison and her son were desperate in reviving it. They were determined to avoid the debtor from taking over the company. If the company was sold, the Allisons would be left with no major investment and would have to return to scratch.

After a while, Mrs Allison picked up her phone to make a phone call.

"Hello, Boss." A male voice spoke from the other end.

"Now, get your guys together and make sure that Stephanie, my daughter, is brought over to my house tonight! I'll send you every detail you need to locate her."

"Alright Boss." The male voice replied.

Stephanie is dragged out of a car by two huge-looking men. They are dressed in black outfits.

Stephanie pants heavily as she mutters some words under her breath. "Please leave me. I'm in pain."

"Will you keep quiet? We can't leave you until you get into that house. We are acting by instructions!"

Stephanie looked up to see where she was brought to. She had been facing down all these while, due to fear of the men. "What?!.."

"Keep quiet!" One of the men interrupted.

The men dragged her into one of the rooms in the house and locked her in, as she continued to pant heavily. Her hands and her legs were tied and her mouth was covered with a white cloth.

"Boss, she's here." One of the men said. He was speaking with Mrs Allison on the phone.

"I'll soon be there." Mrs Allison replied.

Later that evening, Michael returned from work and met his mother in the living room.

"Welcome son." Mrs Allison greeted him.

"Thanks, Mum. So, what's the feedback?"

"We may be unable to get a contract from 'The Legends' because there's no one to stand in for us as a guarantor; however, I've started to implement our initial plan."

"Which plan?" Michael asked.

"The plan to bring Stephanie here. So she's here."

Michael looked at his Mum in surprise. He never expected her to carry out the plan so fast.

"So where is she?"

Mrs Allison grabbed Michael's wrists and pulled him after her, then they stopped in front of a room. She brought out a bunch of keys and used one of the keys to open the door, and then they entered.

Stephanie's head was faced down as she looked like someone who had fainted. She was not aware that anyone had entered the room. Michael walked up to her and tapped her on her shoulders repeatedly before she responded.

On seeing her brother and Mum, Stephanie sat up and widened her eyes.

She struggled to say something, but the piece of clothing used to cover her mouth made it impossible for Michael and Mrs Allison to hear what she said, so Michael stooped low to remove the clothing from blocking her mouth.

"Why did you both arrange for me to come here?!" Stephanie asked angrily.

"You have the guts to speak to us rashly right?" Michael said, as he lifted his hand and was about to hit her when Mrs Allison rushed to stop him.

Then she spoke: "Now, listen to me, Stephanie. Mr Cameron will be coming here tomorrow so that you could meet him. He intends to marry you, so you must agree to his proposal if you still want to be a part of this family. Is that clear?!"

Stephanie chose not to respond to her mother. She was boiling with anger now. She found it difficult to believe that her mother could be so cruel as to kidnap her, just to fulfil her plans.
