Stephanie entered the small sitting room and looked around, shaking her head. She had left for some weeks now. Back at the Allisons' place, Jakes was now very desperate to get out of the dark room. He shook his legs and hands very vigorously with the hope of making the rope used to tie him become slack.He repeatedly tried to loosen the rope on his hands and legs, though it seemed impossible; but he refused to give up. He rested a little bit and then continued. He struggled with the rope for a while, until it became very slack.
