YOU LIED TO US

Stephanie was sitting on her couch in her living room, staring at her phone with a mix of anger and disappointment. She had just ended a phone call with Mrs Allison, and she was seething with rage.

"How could he do this to us?" Stephanie thought to herself. "After all we've done for him?"

Jakes, who had been in the kitchen, walked into the living room and noticed the expression on her face.

"What's wrong?" he asked, concerned.

Stephanie held up her phone. "It's my dad. Mrs Allison just told me that he admitted to stealing our cars."

Jakes was shocked. "What? Your dad?"

Stephanie nodded. "I can't believe it. I trusted him."

Jakes walked over to her and put his arm around her. "We'll figure this out. We can go to the police and tell them everything."

Stephanie shook her head. "No, I don't want to involve the police. Not yet, anyway. I want to confront him first."

Jakes raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
