Ethan's POVI don’t even know how it happens. One moment, I’m this close to closing one of the biggest contracts of the year. A $500 million deal that would solidify my position in the Windsor Corporation. Then next, I’m standing in front of Leonard Windsor, watching his cold, furious eyes bore into me as if I’m nothing more than a disappointment.“You’ve failed me for the last time, Ethan.” His voice is sharp, more like a final judgment. “You are to step back from all business matters immediately. Until I decide otherwise.”A heavy silence falls over the room. My fists clench at my sides.“What?” My voice came out way too low.“You heard me,” he says, standing up and adjusting his cufflinks like he hasn’t just ripped away everything I’ve worked for.I turn to loo

Ethan’s POV“This is the dumbest idea I’ve ever agreed to.”Lisa adjusts her black hoodie and smirks. “That’s because you don’t have my level of genius, dear brother.”I exhale, glancing at the massive Windsor skyscraper in front of us. A fortress of security cameras, biometric locks, and guards who wouldn’t hesitate to throw me out if they saw me.Sneaking in? Terrible idea.Sneaking in with Lisa? Suicidal.“Explain to me again why we’re doing this?” I ask, rubbing my temples.Lisa rolls her eyes. “Because whoever sabotaged you is smart. They covered their tracks online, meaning the only way to get proof is by physically accessing Windsor’s cyber department. And since I can’t just walk in and ask nicely…”“We have to break in.”Lisa grins. “Exactly.”I sigh. I should have just stayed unemployed.THE PLANLisa and I sit in my car, watching the security guards patrol.“Alright,” she says, typing on her laptop. “I managed to disable the main security cameras for exactly four minutes. Ethan’s POVI grip the USB drive so tightly my knuckles turn white. Zara. She betrayed me.I should have expected it. I should have known she’d do something like this. But this?I glance at Lisa beside me, who’s practically bouncing in the passenger seat of my car, twirling a strand of her auburn hair around her finger.“Wanna play some music?” she asks, way too cheerful for what’s about to happen.I shoot her a glare. “Lisa. I’m about to expose my wife for sabotaging me. Maybe don’t act like we’re on a road trip.”She smirks, unfazed. “I process stress with humor, sue me.”I roll my eyes, exhaling sharply as I grip the steering wheel tighter. The Windsor mansion looms in the distance, its towering gates gleaming under the moonlight, casting long, ominous shadows over the gravel driveway.Lisa sighs dramatically. “You know, I don’t get why you’re so mad.”I clench my jaw. “She ruined my career, Lisa.”“Yeah, but..” she waves a hand dismissively..“maybe she had a reason.”I snap my head

Ethan’s POVBlood. So much blood.Even after two days, the image wouldn’t leave my head.Zara lying there, her nightgown soaked in crimson, her body lifeless on our bed. The metallic smell of blood still clung to my nostrils. No matter how many times I washed my hands, I could still feel it on my skin.I never should have left. The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of machines keeping her stable. The white walls, the scent of antiseptic, it all felt suffocating. Zara had been in a coma for two days now, and the wait was unbearable.Lisa sat beside me, scrolling through her laptop, her fingers moving rapidly across the keys. She hadn’t said much since we arrived, but I could tell she was frustrated.“All the CCTV footage from that night is gone,” she muttered, finally breaking the silence.I turned to her sharply. “Gone?”Lisa sighed, rubbing her temple. “Whoever did this knew exactly what they were doing. They wiped everything. No backups, no traces.”I clenched my

Ethan’s POVTaking care of Zara was something I never expected to do. She was stubborn, rude, and always had something to say about everything. But after what happened, after finding her like that in a pool of blood, something inside me changed.I couldn’t let her go through this alone. So, I stayed.I made sure she ate properly, that she took her medications, that she didn’t stress herself. At first, she hated it. She snapped at me every chance she got, claiming she didn’t need my help. But I ignored her protests.“You’re not as tough as you think, Princess,” I smirked one afternoon as she glared at me from the bed.She scoffed. “I’m tougher than you’ll ever be.”I arched a brow. “Oh really? Tough people don’t pass out in their own blood.”Her face darkened. “You….”I placed a spoonful of soup near her lips. “Eat.”“I don’t want to…”I shoved the spoon into her mouth before she could finish. Her eyes widened in shock, and I smirked.“I swear to God, Ethan, I will kill you.”I chuckled

  • The Unwanted son-in-law    Chapter 21: Hard decision

LISA’S POVNo one knew what I had done. Not even Ethan. As I sat in my apartment, the glow of my laptop screen casting dim brightness across the room, I held the small flash drive between my fingers, turning it over, feeling the weight of it, the weight of the truth it carried, everything that has been their little secret. The secrets on this device could change everything. They could shatter Ethan’s trust, expose the lies we’d both unknowingly built our lives around, and worst of all confirm my deepest fear.I took a deep breath and plugged it in.The screen flickered, and my heart pounded as the hidden files I had extracted from Windsor’s system started loading. A flurry of encrypted messages, financial transactions, confidential reports all laid bare before me. I clicked through them quickly, my eyes darting across lines of text, trying to make sense of what I am seeing. And then, I saw it.A name I hadn’t expected.Mr. Carter. It was highlighted in an email thread between Windsor

CHRIS’S POVEverything was set. They thought I was done with them, hahaha they are so wrong.I had been planning this for a month now, waiting for the perfect moment. Ethan had been in my way for far too long, stealing the recognition and trust of the Windsors that should have been mine. He wasn’t even part of this world, yet he had their respect. But no more.I leaned against my car in the corner near the Windsor estate, watching the security cameras. I had studied their patterns, where they turned, where the blind spots were. The morning rush was my best opportunity.Ethan always left for work around the same time. His routine was predictable.Too easy.I pulled out my phone, checking the small detonator in my hand. A simple push of a button, and boomhe’d be gone.By the time anyone realized what had happened, I would be far away, with an alibi so airtight that even the police wouldn’t question me.Everything was in place. Now, all I had to do was wait.LISA’S POVSomething wa

Ethan’s POVI barely had time to process the call before I was in my car, racing toward the scene.Lisa.Lisa’s car had exploded. My sister.I could barely breathe as I gripped the steering wheel, the car was speeding real fast. My heartbeat pounded so bad, and I could hear each beat of it, and it was drowning out every rational thought in me.This can’t be real. This can’t be happening. Please be alive. Please be alive. When I arrived, the entire street was a disaster. Cops cars, firefighters, paparazzi and paramedics swarmed the area, their flashing lights casting reflections off the broken glass littering the pavement. Smoke still curled from what remained of Lisa’s car a charred, twisted wreck. The acrid scent of burning metal and gasoline clung to the air, making me want to poke.I stumbled out of my car, almost tripping over my own feet.“Lisa!” I screamed, pushing past officers, ignoring the hands trying to restrain me. “Where is she? She took off her sunglasses, tossed her bag onto the floor, and kicked off her shoes. “Not now, Ethan.”I scoffed. “Not now? Not now?! You’ve been missing for three days! I had people out looking for you! You weren’t answering your phone! What were you doing, huh? Running a secret operation in another country? Learning how to survive in the wilderness?”She yawned. Like Yawned. She wasn’t the reason I’d barely

They weren’t just selling to anyone.No.They were selling to the Carters. To Ethan Carter, of all people. That arrogant little upstart was circling my empire like a vulture, waiting for me to drop dead.I exhaled slowly, pressing my fingers against my temples. “Unbelievable.”The betrayal. The audacity. The insult.I spent years building this business, turning the Windsor name into one of power and prestige, and now these cowards were running at the first sign of trouble?I was still fuming when my assistant walked in.“Sir,” he said, looking nervous. “You have a visitor.”I narrowed

Too loudly, too awkwardly and too very suspiciously.“Hiding?” I repeated, clearing my throat. “Nothing! What would I even hide? That’s crazy.”Veronica nodded way too fast. “So crazy.”My father’s eyes narrowed. Oh, we were so dead.“Dad, it's just about Ethan, we were just wondering how his son would eventually be if Victoria gets pregnant for him, I said, faking my best smile”.He stepped closer. “Then why did you go silent the second I walked in?”I faked a yawn. “I was just… tired and forget what to say.”Veronica chimed in, “Yeah, she’s been stressed…” I

Victoria’s POVEthan was pissed. Not his usual brooding billionaire kind of pissed. No, tonight he was drunk-until-you-forget-your-own-name levels of pissed. And honestly? I couldn’t even blame him.Zara had just pulled the most spectacularly embarrassing stunt of the century at her own party, dragging me through the mud, calling me a husband snatcher, only for Ethan to drop the BOOM. We had dated for only three years.I mean, I knew she had issues, but that was next-level delusion. Now here we were, back at Ethan’s penthouse, and instead of just cooling off like a normal person, the man had grabbed a bottle of whiskey and was drinking like it owed him money.“Ethan,” I sighed, watching him from the doorway of the kitchen. “Maybe slow down?”He ignored me and poured another glass.I crossed my arms. “Drinking isn’t going to fix anything.”“It’s not supposed to fix anything,” he muttered, taking a long sip. “It’s supposed to help me forget how much of a circus my life has become.”I r

  • Chapter 42: Tables Turned

Zara’s POV I was going to make a statement. Not a quiet one, not a subtle one, a very loud, public, scandalous statement that would remind everyone, especially Ethan, exactly who I was.So, I threw a party. And not just any party, a Zara Windsor-level party. Expensive venue, exclusive guest list, champagne flowing like water, and music loud enough to make even the most uptight socialites loosen up, I knew that money was my saving but I don't give a fv*k.Because Ethan and Victoria are the real reason for this grand event. I sent them personal invitations. Because what’s the point of a spectacle if the main characters don’t show up?And to my absolute delight, they did. Oh, this Was Going to Be FunI had something to prove. Ethan wasn’t over me, no matter how many smug newspaper headlines tried to tell me otherwise. And Victoria? Please. She was just a placeholder, a speed bump on the road back to my rightful place by Ethan’s side.Ethan looked… Well, Ethan. Sharp, brooding, annoyin

  • Chapter 41: Visiting my father.

Zara’s POV I should’ve known visiting my father would be a mistake. And yet, here I was, standing outside Leonard Windsor’s office like a condemned prisoner walking to the gallows. I had barely stepped inside when his sharp voice sliced through the air.“YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.”Ah, yes. The warm Windsor family is welcome.I didn’t flinch as my father shot up from behind his massive desk, his face rapidly turning an interesting shade of red. His office, usually a cold, intimidating space designed to make people feel small, suddenly felt too cramped under the weight of his rage.I let out a dramatic sigh and flopped into the chair across from him. “Miss me, Father?”He slammed a newspaper onto the desk, his glare practically burning a hole through me."ETHAN CARTER & VICTORIA LEXINGTON – NEW YORK'S POWER COUPLE?"The headline was in bold, capital letters, as if it was personally taunting me. Beneath it was a photo of Ethan and Victoria walking out of some exclusive event, her
