Chapter 100

"Leonard....Leonard!" a faint voice called out, pulling him back from the brink of oblivion.

Leonard's eyes fluttered open to find his loyal companion Argus hovering over him, the dog's eyes wide with concern.

"Argus?" Leonard murmured in confusion. "But the demons..."

"I drove them off before they reached the village," another voice said. Leonard turned to see his trusted ally stepping out from the shadows. His friend's face was grim as he knelt beside Leonard.

"That arrow nearly finished you, my friend. But I was able to heal you just in time."

Relief washed over Leonard as he realized he had been saved from the demonic arrow's curse. But his relief turned to alarm as he recalled the situation.

"The demons..." he struggled to rise, only for his ally to gently restrain him.

"Gone for now," his ally assured him. "But I fear they were only the first wave. More will be coming."

Leonard's mind raced. "I must get to the village, help prepare defenses..."
