Chapter 20

Breakfast was ready, it was a wonderful meal of rice and salad. Claire brought her grandfather’s food in a richly adorned tray.

“Here you go sir,” she said, placing the tray on the side table in front of him. His face seemed to change and his mood brightened once he noticed the food and perceived the aroma.

He was obviously famished. One bite and one taste confirmed Claire’s expertise in cooking.

“Hmhmh, wow you’re such a wonderful cook my child,” Lenon said to his granddaughter, a wide smile and grin on his face.

“Thank you sir, I prepared it specially to make you happy and I’m really glad you like it.” Claire said to him in a rather loving and caring tone and it really touched the old man’s heart.

Old Lenon bent over and pecked his daughter on the cheek. “God bless you my child, your days are blessed and you shall find favor in the presence of your fellow men.” He placed his hands on his daughter’s palm and blessed her.
