When Andrew returns to the house, he meets Uma playing alone in the living room. She has been fed and changed out of her dress, but it's very unlike anyone to leave her alone by herself.

She runs into his arms as soon as she sees her father. “Daddy! Daddy! I've missed you!”

He picks her up and throws her a little in the air, she giggles because she likes it.

“Where is your grandma?” He asks her. “Why have you been left alone?”

Uma goes back to her toys with a shrug. “Grandma has been really moody since we got back home. The neighbor insulted her and called us poor. I think Grandma is crying in her room about it.”

This makes Andrew frown because he knows the neighbor that they are talking about.

Lola has been very spiteful of Thomas and his family since they moved in here when they were thrown out of their family. Lola always uses the opportunity to tell them that they were disgraced and thrown out.
