CHAPTER 3: He Was The Heir 2

Amelia said, neither you nor your talent was worse than Allen. What happened to you now was all because you went against your grandfather's wish."

James, who was still outside the door, became nervous and his heart, beat rapidly when he heard that.

"Mom," Ava said firmly, no matter what you say, I will never divorce James."

"Ava, are you crazy? Why are you staying with that loser? Can't you give him up?" Amelia stood up angrily from the ground and grabbed Ava's shoulder, saying, "You're being sued now, but your grandfather doesn't care! You might go to jail."

"Then so be it. I'm not afraid," Ava raised her head and said firmly.

"That's insane! You're crazy..." Amelia shook her head with a bitter smile. She has always believed that her daughter wanted a divorce from James the most, but it turned out that she was wrong.

James also felt his wife's firmness was unexpected.

After their honeymoon phase was over, they had been living a hard life. And James had thought that he was a burden, an unbearable loser in Ava's heart.

Yet, he did not expect her to still have feelings for him.

James gave a wry smile as he stood up from the ground and walked out of the hospital.

He walked with firm steps as if he had made some major decisions.

He had to change for Ava.

He would no longer allow others to look down upon him or ridicule him.

And he swore he would protect the woman he loved.

Therefore, James dialed a phone number that he had never contacted in the past three years.

Soon, the call went through.

"Hi, Leo." James pursed his lips helplessly and said, "There's something that I need you to help me with."

"Mr. Miller! Thank God." You finally called me!" Leo Meyer on the other end of the phone was so excited that he almost cried tears of joy. "It has been three years, and now you're finally willing to contact me! Do you know what kind of life Mr. Miller and I have been living? We..."

"Alright, stop nagging." James interrupted him impatiently and said, "Just tell me. Can you deal with this matter or not?"

"Yeah, sure!" Leo quickly replied, flatteringly. "I will do my best to help you with everything! Even if you asked me to do a hundred or even a thousand things, I won't ever hesitate."

"But Mr. Miller," Leo changed his tone and pretended to be embarrassed. "According to your agreement with Sir Miller, if you use your family assets and connections, you'll have to..."

"I know." Before Leo could finish speaking, James impatiently interrupted him again, "I have to go home and inherit my family properties. right?"

"So that means..." Leo said excitedly, Mr. Miller, you've agreed to come back and inherit the business and assets of the Miller family, right?"

"That's right. Go back and tell him that his plan has worked." James continued unwillingly, "I'll go back and inherit it."

"Mr. Miller! Mr. Miller!" Leo was so excited that he almost dropped his phone. "Where are you now? I'll send a car to pick you up!"

"Oh, no! Just stay there and wait for me. I'll come in person and pick you up," Leo said again.

"It's fine, Leo," James said calmly. "You've known me well since I was young. As long as I made a promise. I will keep it. So, don't worry. I am not running away!"

"Yes, you're right, Mr. Miller," Leo said with a smile when he heard that, "Why don't you come to the company? Let's meet and talk about the details."

"Alright. I'll be there by myself." After saying that, James hung up.

Raising his head to look at the clouds in the sky, James could not help but reveal a bitter smile.

Now, it was time to let them know the truth. James was not a penniless and unaccomplished loser.

Instead, he was the heir of the super wealthy family that owned more than billions of assets.

He had assets all over the world and owned three listed companies, in which he held more than half of the shares.

Three years ago, James cut off all ties with his family because he had a conflict with Sir Miller. Since then, he had started living his life as an ordinary person.

However, he had no choice but to give in when life had pushed him to face the cruel reality of life.

There was a saying about his situation.

'if the heir of a rich family didn't do well in living a self-dependent life, he would have to return home and inherit his family fortunes."
