"James..." Ava tugged at his sleeve nervously. She realized that a scoundrel like Elliot would not just walk away and leave them alone.

James patted her hand reassuringly before looking at Elliot and said, "The next time you try to pull the wool over someone's eye, leave the fake Vacheron-Constantin watch at home. it's so embarrassing!"

There was a collective gasp in the room as all eyes turned to his watch.

No one suspected that it was fake. In fact, they were impressed by it.

"I may as well be dead," Amanda's sob turned into a piercing cry upon hearing James' remark. She wanted to kick herself for letting Elliot Forcados take advantage of her naivety and trust.

Joseph Bailey tried to ease the gloomy atmosphere in the room. "Bryan, don't he upset over this," he looked at his brother-in-law and said with concern.

Meanwhile, James whispered to Ava as he held her hand, "Let's go dear."

She took a deep breath and agreed. It was pointless for them to stay on in such an awkward situation.
