"Have you heard? Lancelot Academy will begin their admission next week!"
"Ooh! How I wish I had my meridans opened. I heard only through that can you wield beta force and become a Magi" Aiden groaned as he covered his ears, trying his best to not let the topic of his classmates discussions get to him. "Hey, Aiden" a palm smacked his desk. The sound was so loud that it alerted the students in the class. "I heard in the past that you swore to attend Lancelot Academy? it's the number one school for Magis in the state you know?" a mocking voice rang. "What are you saying Rio?. Lancelot Academy is for Magis. You know I'm not" Aiden laughed self mockingly. Rio. He was a prodigy in the class due to the fact that he had awakened his meridans. That meant he had a high chance of becoming a Magi. As such, he was pretty popular in the class, with many girls swooning over him. "Tch. I heard your parents were powerful Magis before their deaths" Rio grinned."Shouldn't you have inherited their talent? say aren't you too much of a trash?" "Well, what can I say? things didn't go as expected. Unlike you.. I wasn't fated to be a Magi in this life" Aiden replied with a small smile. "Tch. Wipe off that smile dammit! are you mocking me or something?!" Pah! Rio landed a crisp slap on Aiden's face. "Yeah. Yeah. Sorry" Aiden held up his cheeks as he apologized. "Weakling. I expected you'd put up a fight" saying this, Rio sauntered off, while being surrounded by his loyal supporters. "Put up a fight huh?".. Riing! The electric bell for closing time rang, causing many students from Jymy Oles middle school to cheer happily as they grabbed their things preparing to go to their various homes. "Man, I heard the rates of murders happening this past week has risen by a notch" "Hm. I wonder what those from the Sentry Association are doing about this. They haven't found the killer after this long time has passed?""Yeah. The serial killer has been going on about this for weeks. Are the Sentries so unreliable?" "Well, at least the LEA has placed a lockdown right? I heard that the serial killer mostly acts at night" Two men discussed amongst themselves as they walked down the street, walking past Aiden who just happened to hear their discussion. "Serial Killer huh?" Aiden mumbled. After the introduction of magis and beta force, it was only natural for many to begin cultivating malicious thoughts. There existed some magis who believed that their destinies were to become the superior race. As such, they would often bully those who were not magis, committing nefarious crimes and going scot free. They were often regarded as Mercenaries by the public. But like both sides of a coin, there existed a group who believed in the notion: with great power, comes great responsibility. These like minded individuals banded together to form the Sentry Association. These individuals (sentries) made it their task to protect innocent citizens from the evil paws of the Mercenaries. They were also in charge of dealing with Fiends and threats to society. Over time, it became a much coveted occupation... Creek.. Creek.. Creek.. Crickets made their unique sounds as frogs croaked, all under the brilliant illumination of the mum, surrounded by glittering stars. "Tomorrow is the exams. Although my grades are the best in the class, Mr. Shrimp is pretty unpredictable. It won't hurt to revise a bit" Aiden yawned as he held an old oil lamp in one hand, and a large textbook on the other. Placing the textbook on the wooden floor, he attempted to lighten up the lamp. "Aish!" he groaned in frustration when he noticed that the oil in the lamp had run out. "I forgot to buy some oil on my way back from school" He took a glance at the reflection of the moon on his window. "It's pretty late now. I wonder if the convienence store is still open?"But just at that moment, the discussion he overheard from the two men on his way back from school rang in his head. "They mentioned a seriak killer who acts at night. What if he shows up?" he shivered when he thought of such a possibility. Shit.. He was scared of leaving the house, but the oil was very important. Without it, he wouldn't be able to light his lamp and read. Taking a deep breath, he weighed both choices inwardly before making a choice. He was going to risk everything and go buy the oil. Perhaps, the serial killer won't even reach the area he was in. Dead set, he went back to his cozy room. Using the almost obscure rays of the moon reflected through his window, he removed a wad of banknotes from underneath his pillow. Tucking them safely in his pocket, he left the house. After carefully padlocking the door, he started jogging towards the closest convenience store... "Damn that Sentry! I never thought that my movement would be tracked somehow!"A figure looking haggard with various bruises and torn clothing staggered into an alleyway, leaning against a trash can, panting heavily. Judging from the body shape, it was a female. However, her hair which was stained with blood was drapped over her shoulder, concealing her face. "Aish! I need juice before that damn Sentry comes here, or else my life will be forfeit!" Aisha shrieked in agony and frustration. "Eh?" just then, her pointy ears twitched. Moments later, a jogging individual emerged; it was Aiden! "Juiice!!" Aisha shrieked as she pounced forward. Aiden who was jogging through the alley suddenly felt something pounced on him. It felt ice cold, however he felt a bouncy elastic like mound pressing against his chest. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to savor this sensation because he suddenly felt two sharp objects sink into his collar bone. "Ughh!!" he groaned as he tried to wriggle his Body free. Unfortunately, Aisha's strong grip kept him in place."Yes! Yes! Yes!" like a mad beast, Aisha held onto Aiden like her life depended on it. She could already feel some of her lost stamina being restored. "Blood sucker! leave the kid!!" an angry voice yelled, followed by a thick vine that slammed against Aisha, sending her flying. "Ugh! time to go!" Aisha groaned as she stood up wobbly, fleeing into the darkness... "Hm?" Aiden groaned as he opened his eyes, instantly inhaling an unpleasant sulphuric smell. "Hospital?" he mumbled weakly, unconsciously touching the right side of his collarbone, which just happened to be bandaged. Memories of what happened at the dark alley flooded into his brain. He shivered. What was wrong with that strange individual and why did she bite his neck? No matter how hard Aiden thought about it, things just didn't make any sense. At that moment, the door opened and a doctor walked in. "You are awake young man? what a relief" the doctor smiled charismatically."D-Doctor.. how long was I unconscious?" Aiden asked. "A whole week"Related Chapters

Aiden sat on the bed in the hospital ward, lost in his own thoughts. Thanks to the doctor, he got to hear the full gist of what happened. Apparently, a Sentry was chasing after the notorious 'night serial killer' who managed to flee after hurting him. Guilty, the Sentry brought him to the hospital for treatment, footing all the medical bills. "Tch. Though I wonder what's up with that killer. What did she have to bite me on the neck? is she a fiend attribute magi?" Aiden wondered.--- "But the main issue is that I missed my school exams. I'll have to retake that session again. Tch. I shouldn't have gone out that night" he gritted his teeth with regrets.-[Ping! Congratulations! Drip. Drip. Drip. Aiden stared as his fingers, dripping with blood. A look of horror in his expression. All around him were shriveled coprses. The atmosphere was gloomy, further accentuating the gory sight.-[Mission Completed!]-[You have recieved +10 Blood drachmas]-[You have devoured 35 litres of blood] "W-What have I turned into?!" he burst into tears... Lancelot Academy..It was a prestigious school to breed young magis, being the number one in Halowe State. It was located in a 1st tier city called Gold Spring city and was the most powerful force there, apart from the Viscount Manor. However currently, the gates of Lancelot Academy was wide ajar, welcoming a rapid stream of visitors. This was because, today was the day of the Academy's admission. An event that only happened once a year. The Academy's landscape was ridiculously huge, so was the building structure. Like any other Magi Academies, the admission was often free however, it came with an entrance test.Failing

Silence. Everybody present at the venue of Lancelot Academy's entrance exam stared at Rio like he was a monster. "T-Two Mojos?" "And they are both King tiers!" "I heard the country's number one Sentry has two mojos. But they are just king tier and queen tier talents" "Do you mean to say this kid is even more talented than the country's number one Sentry?" Hearing the audiences discussions about him, Rio grinned smugly. "I'm the best in the world! before my talent, everybody is just trash!" "W-What a pleasant surprise. To think we have a talented youngster in our midst with an innate talent of dual mojos" Teacher Krillin said, barely able to contain his excitement. Innate talent! Unlike normal talent, Magis with innate talent were destined for great things. Talent usually referred to the mojo a Magi wielded. But innate talent.. there was no ranking to it. If a Magi had an innate talent, then they were destined for great things. That was their fate, already set in stone! Since

"Yeah! Yeah! Pummel him!" "That's what I'm talking about!" "Loser! get up and fight!" Entering the battle rambo building, Aiden winced in discomfort at the loud noises the audiences were making. Due to being a Vampire, his senses were more enhanced than humans. As such, the noise was amplified a hundred times over. It was as if someone placed a megaphone besides his ear and was screaming into it. "First time here kid?" the middle aged man who was walking besides Aiden, smiled when he read his body language. "Hm. I don't know how to address you sir" Aiden replied. "My name is Xavier. What's yours?" "Aiden" Mr. Xavier grinned. "Alright Aiden, let's get you booked up!" Leading the way, the duo arrived at a counter. "I want to book a fight" Mr. Xavier said to the female behind the counter. "Oh? what battle stage please?" the counter lady asked. Mr. Xavier observed Aiden for a bit before responding. "The Beta stage""Alright. Let me prepare the booking. Is your fighter a Mag

"Nightshade Royal Academy?" Aiden repeated with skpectism. "Tsk. Tsk. It is an Academy owned by the Nightshade Country" Mr. Xavier grinned. "Say what?!" Aiden almost had an heart attack. "You aren't kidding withme right?" he asked suspiciously. In this current world, there were cities, counties, States, dukedoms, kingdoms, empires and continents. The Sentry Association was an organization that had jurisdiction over all Magis. Their counterpart were the Mercenary Fraternity, that often lived in the shadows. However, there also existed noble and royal power that ruled over their own regions in the world. Starting from the bottom were the Lords. They often ruled over hamlets and villages. Then were the Barons who ruled over towns. Viscounts were nobles and rulers of cities. Counts were nobles who ruled over counties. Earls were nobles ranked higher than Counts. They ruled over states. Dukes ruled over Dukedoms, Kings ruled over Countries, Emperors ruled over Continents. As for

"This is the Academy?" Aiden mumbled as he alighted down from a black limousine. The sheer size and decor of the Academy's building was beyond anything he could ever imagine. Taking a look at the premises, he noticed that all the students came in expensive looking cars. From the grandeur of their movement and the dignified air surrounding them, even an infant could tell that they were all nobles. "Pheew. I can do this" Aiden took a breather as he sauntered towards the school building. At the lobby area, there were four platforms with plaques besides them. Freshmen Sophomore Junior Senior "Hm. According to my card. I am at the class D for the Freshmen Students" Aiden mumbled to himself as he followed a group who were headed for the platform with the *Freshmen* plaque besides it. "Though, I wonder what the platform is used for?" he mumbled with curiosity. As if answering his question, a male noble amongst the group stepped on the platform. As soon as he did, the platform got
The Vampire System Chapter 8 — Huge Mission
Not long after Nyx departure, a new teacher walked into the Class D. It was a female with dark spots underneath her eyes. Her lips were covered in black lip gloss and she was a devilish beauty. Comparing her to the maid at Xavier's house, Aiden shook his head. When speaking of natural assets although the Teacher before him was slightly above average, she didn't come close. "Good morning Class D! I am Lisa, your Geography Teacher!" "Oh. She has a beautiful voice. Not bad" Aiden mumbled to himself. "Hm.. Let's begin our classes then. Today's topic is going to be the distinction of regions.." Lisa began her teaching, which she did for over thirty minutes. If not for her beautiful face, many students (mostly guys) would've dozed off because of just how boring the Geography class was. Very soon, Geography class period ended and the next teacher took over. This time, it was a slender man with delicate skin and feminine features. When the females in the class saw this teacher, their e

Aiden couldn't believe what he just heard. Xavier was the Country's protector?! "So, are you related to him in some way?" Charlotte asked. "Something like that. Hm? how did you figure that out? don't tell me your mojo is telepathy?" Aiden gave Charlotte a wary look. "Pft. If I had such a mojo, I would be in Class A, not Class D" Charlotte giggled. "As for how I did it, I kinda compared you both skin tone. Not to mention that you both have a dangerous vibe around you" Charlotte explained. "Ohh" Aiden nodded. Chapter 356 — Lower The Bar
Weng! The murmuring students were jolted by this sudden sound. Looking towards its point of origin, they noticed the intercrossed runic lines on the ground were now completely filled up with blood as the runic matrix echoed a ringing sound while it occasionally glowed. None of those present were bumpkins. As such they could instantly deduce that whatever the uses of this runic matrix was, it was definitely a few seconds away from full activation. "Ah.. looks like I made it in time.." space shook as Nedia and Red Rose figure became visible once again. The current Nedia appeared completely hale and hearty. Even his amputated arm was now regenerated. "And you're awake as well . " Nedia's expression fell when he saw a certain childlike figure glaring heatedly at him from within the crowd of students. He was just about to say something when the runic matrix below them finally reached full activation, a brilliant golden light emerged from the runic matrix, encompassing all the stu
Chapter 355 — Mystery In The Air
The sound of sirens continuously ringing echoed loudly as a large fleet of military grade vehicles numbering about twelve, pulled over in front of a blue colored spiralling Ruins Gate. If one looked closely enough, they would be able to discover some shades of red within the bright blue.. "Captain Sloane?" Captain Grace sounded surprised as she recognized the first person to step out of the lead vehicle. "Hm' Captain Sloane gave her a curt nod as he immediately fixated his gaze on the level 3 Beast Ruins Gate. Captain Sloane was a man of slender yet towering stature.. although he wasn't buff, he had a certain presence around him that commanded respect and power! He was currently clad in black suit and shades, just like six of his Guild Members who came along with him. "Captain Veronica?" Captain Grace jaws nearly dropped once again as she recognized a well known Sentry amongst the newcomers. Captain Veronica! she was one of the few females who dominated the Sentry Sector. H
Chapter 354 — Feeding
"You made me use my Arcane..""..So even after I kill you, I won't feel any exhilaration!" Dropping these incredibly arrogant words, the stacked up fireballs suddenly exploded like soft water bubbles in a rapid sequence as Nedia vanished from his previous position only to reappear back on the same spot in under a split second. However this time, there was a bloodstained heart in his grip. "Don't feel too bad. You should feel proud that you forced my hands to such extent.." It was only after Nedia crushed the heart in his grip that Jason suddenly vomited a large mouthful of blood. Under the horrified gazes of the spectating students, his knees caved in as the fist sized hole on his chest got revealed. Not even him had noticed that Nedia ripped out his heart! Fwish! A thick blood mist escaped Jason's skin pores as the effect of Overdrive wore off. Clarity once again returned back to Jason's eyes.. unfortunately the young Magi was now a cold corpse with a missing heart. Following
Chapter 353 — The OP Nature Of Overdrive
The sound of a nuke being set off echoed as a large explosion occurred, resulting in a figure being knocked flying out front the thick cloud of smoke, courtesy of the explosion. Rolling across the ground for what seemed like forever, Nedia finally came to a halt. Currently, his blood condensed body suit was nowhere to be seen — Obviously reduced to ashes. "I was too overconfident.." Nedia bit his lips in regret as he observed the injuries on his body. Currently his entire body was laid bare, ridden with burn marks. As for his right shoulder, it was now missing an arm. Just like his bodysuit, his blood condensed right arm failed to withstand the impact of Jason's attack. "Kyaa!" many of the female students immediately turned around once they noticed Nedia's nakedness. Ignoring the uncomfortable state he was currently in, Nedia bit his wrist, drawing out blood which he then used to condense a fresh body suit. However compared to the previous one, this one appeared to be less
Chapter 352 — Aura and Overdrive
Suddenly an explosion rang out from within Jason's body as a reddish halo began to seep out from the pores of skin. The armor he was clad in scattered into a million pieces, revealing only his torso which was currently bulging with thick veins. As for his previous rosy skin tone, it was now a deep reddish shade, like his entire innards were currently burning up. Following this bizarre change, an intense energy signature erupted from within Jason, knocking the spectating students skidding across the ground as they all stared at his direction in an horrified manner. "Grr!!" currently Jason's eyes were bloodshot and saliva were currently dripping from his mouth. Coupled with his now bare reddish skin tone, he looked like an accurate comic version of the devil. "T-This energy signature!" Elena's pupils dilated as she watched the pressure from Jason's volatile materialized energy signature, which also forced her skidding back across the ground, the weapon Intent defense she had set up
Chapter 351 — Brother's Keeper
Bang! Bang! Bang! Following the sound of rapid explosion, many of the students retreated back while shielding their eyes from the surge of dust that resulted in the collision. As the dust gradually settled, many of them couldn't help to engage in heated discussions amongst themselves.. Just now, Nedia had barely shown any sign of retreating in the face of Jason's attack. They couldn't help but wonder whether he had managed to erect a defensive barrier at the last moment, or if he was now nothing more than a pile of burnt flesh. And soon, they got their answer.. however it went against all of the conclusions they all thought of inwardly. "Tsk. Tsk. Do you like showing off too much or what? I thought we both agreed just now that you've got me mistaken with someone huh?" Whether it was Jason or the other students, their pupils dilated in horror when they saw Nedia casually walk out from the crater that Jason's created on the ground, appearing completely unhurt.
Chapter 350 — Mistaking Identities
"Hmpfh. Not only are you shaming the image of the late Lord Xavier, but also that of the Academy.. a filthy Vampire being a student of the Academy? this news cannot be allowed to leave this Beast Ruins!" a self righteous cry rang out as a freshman courageously took a step forward. "And who are you supposed to be?" Nedia raised a brow in an unimpressed manner. "Hmph. My name is Jimmy Hart! you might not know this but I'm actually the top performing student of Class B!" Jimmy grinned confidently. "Hm. Okay. But my real meaning was, what the hell do you think you are doing?" Nedia clicked his tongue in amusement. "Hmpfh. I'm naturally going to act in the place of the Sentry Association and rid the world from a scourge like you!" Jimmy summoned his enchanted armament from his storage watch which was actually a finely crafted spear. He was just about to charge towards Nedia when he suddenly felt a grip on his right hand arm which was wrapped around his enchanted armament. "Put t
Chapter 349 — The "Trash" Makes An Appearance
Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound of multiple defensive barriers crumbling apart echoed loudly as several Academy students cautiously peered around their surrounding, only sighing in relief when they noticed that the destructive pink mist was nowhere in sight. "We are saved!" "It was only thanks to second year Jason!" "Second year Jason saved us!" Jason merely stared blankly in the face of the countless thanks he was receiving from the ecstatic students. Dispelling the translucent defensive curtain of weapon light around her, Elena creeped up besides Jason as she flashed him a naughty smile. "You shouldn't look so solemn.. after all you just saved all of our lives.. that is of course there might be other problems that you know about?" Jason almost vomited blood when he heard Elena's thorn covered words. Since the viperous feind didn't bother toning down her statement, he instantly became the center of attention. "I--" just as Jason made to move his lips, the sound of loud crack
Chapter 348 — Unexpected Changes
"Its been thirty minutes now" one of the Academy Teachers murmured as he briefly glanced at the watch around his wrist. His name was Bieber and he just happened to be the homeroom Teacher of class B of the Sophomore Division. Apart from him, there were two other Teachers from the Academy present.. a chubby middle aged named Zaine who was the Homeroom Teacher of Claas A of the Sophomore Division and Maria, the new combat class Instructor. "This is a Level One Beast Ruins, not a playground. Normally to clear this kind of Ruins requires a squad of Junior A-Class Sentries usually led by a Senior A- class. However even with that kind of line-up, a successful Ruins Raid on a Rank One Beast Ruins usually takes up to an hour.." Captain Grace replied. Who did these nobles think they were? from the statement of the Academy Teacher, were they hinting that her squad of Junior A-Class Sentries were inferior to a bunch of high school students? "That wasn't our intentions, it's just that we
