"Are you really not going to give me the bite?" Gregory whined for the upteenth time as the lightning wings behind him flapped, causing him to remain airborne as he streaked through the air.

Besides him was Aiden who also had a pair of lightning wings flapping furiously from behind him.

"No" Aiden replied flatly as they flew past a street light which was barely luminating the dark street they had just flew past. Above them, the night skies was still young with tiny glittering stars hanging above.

"C'mon stop being stingy. If I become a Red One, then that means my combat strength will increase, thus increasing our chances of survival when we go against the Red Sharks" Gregory stated in a convincing manner.

"We're partners after all" he further added.

"You are strong just the way you are. Just your arcane mastery alone is capable of giving many people headache " Aiden replied bluntly.

"Not to mention being a Red One isn't something glorious or amazing as you think it is. Trust

However strangely enough, these rapidly drumming hearts wasn't happening due to fear, but an infectious kind of excitement and anticipation. "Helllooo everybody!!!!" Just then, a loud voice boomed, followed by the release of a spotlight that shone on a rapidly descending flat surface. Standing atop the floating board was a middle aged man clad in black trench coat while wearing a pair of skeletal hand gloves. His whole face was ridden with thick tattoos, giving him an hideous facial appearance. However when the attendees witnessed his entrance, they exploded into a loud fit of applause. If not for the fact that the Battle Rambo building was surrounded by a noise silencing Runic matrix, th

That was because when he had punched Aiden, if felt like his fist didn't collide against flesh but a thick wall of steel, causing his knuckles to hurt a bit. "Tch" Aiden merely clicked his tongue at the other party's boastful exterior. "Accept mine then" lightly tapping his feet on the ground, Aiden dashed forward like a phantom. Before Metal Buster could react to his speed, Aiden right fist had already appeared a little inches away from his chin. Bang! A body flew back like a missle as Metal Buster crashed roughly against the edge of the combat ring, cutting a sorry figure The whole crowd went silent. Clang! Clang! Bang! Aiden's feet skidded across the surface of the battle ring before coming to an abrupt stop as soon as he reached the edge. Bringing his fist up, he noticed thin lines atop the surface of the *Rock Gauntlet* he wore. "You're powerful" he confessed grimly as he eyed Kubo cautiously. It had been more than ten minutes since their battle began. And of all the battles he had participated in for the night, this had to be the longest. Although they had exchanged more than a hundred blows, Aiden was shocked to notice that he was gradually being on the defensive side while Kubo was slowly taking the advantage! Whirl! Whirl! Ignoring his statement, Kubo spun his blade around, sending out three arcs of saber will streaking towards his direction.. Two were aimed at his chest while the last one was streaking towards his left leg. The attack's precision were flawless! Seizen warned sternly as he slowly made his way over "You can't do that. Because you are even much more weaker than he is" Oge bluntly replied. "You!!" veins exploded on Seizen forehead as an Hex pattern was on the verge of liting up when he suddenly felt a strong grip on his shoulder. "It's fine. It would seem you are quite confident in your strength. Which isn't a bad thing. However over confidence is a hazard that will get you killed early " Although it sounded like Barry was giving Oge a calm lecture, Aiden was able to tell that underneath that calm tone was a surpressed anger that was on the verge of exploding out. "Alright. You both should stay back " Oge warned Aiden and Gregory as her saber seemed to have come to life, springing out

"Because this was the place we lost Tasha. Maybe if you were not enjoying your suspension last week, you'd at least understand" Lara retorted coldly. "Calm down. It wasn't Aiden's fault" Spark patted Lara on the shoulder. "I was surprised to hear that you guys would be returning back here. I figured it might reopen old injuries " Sterling's voice rang as he approached the group, engaging in a handshake with Spark. "We are just doing our best to keep the country safe just like you all. "You both are next" The two remaining Sentries shivered when they heard this sentence as they felt a cold gaze fall upon them. The most crazy part was that at that moment they felt so terror stricken that they couldn't even move an inch from where they stood. "Good" August pointed his index finger towards the direction of the female Warlock as a green colored orb the size of a tennis ball materialized before streaking towards her. "Damnit! I can't just sit still and wait to die!" through sheer force of will, the Warlock bit the tip of her tongue, causing her to regain control over her body which gave her just enough time to whip up her saber, swinging it towards the incoming green orb. Unfortunately, her attempt for survival was futile. Kriiish! Like an egg smashed against a rock, the face of the Warlock became ashen when she saw her saber shatter into tiny shards as the green orb continued on its path, colliding against her chest. Splurt! "You mean to tell me that Kaito escaped?" Spark gaped in shock and a layer of disbelief as Sterling led him through a flight of stairs. "Indeed. He slaughtered all the Sentries who were currently present. On your way here you must've noticed that some parts of the building seemed to have faced a hasty repair" Sterling sighed helplessly. "Tch. Isn't it known that the Dungeons manned by Sentry Guilds are literally unbreakable? how come he escaped?" Rio sniggered. "Nothing is absolute" Spark shook his head. "So what is that current status of your Guild?" he asked Sterling. "We are currently twenty in number. Fortunately, the Vice Captain is around. However I don't think the situation is any better. We intend on recruiting more members " Sterling revealed. By now they had finally arrived at a winding hallway. Seeing the hallway, Derulo frowned lightly. "Where are you taking us?" he asked curiously. "To meet the Vice Captain of course " Sterling replied as he began to walk forward.

It wasn't just his movement speed that was being affected, he could also sense that the flow of his beta force was beginning to slow down as well. "You've begun feeling the effect no?" with her previously pale expression regaining its color, Captain Millie's Rune Cape appeared behind her as she took into the skies, looking down on the confused August with a sneer. "Basically you are trapped in the Diamond grade Rune Matrix, Twelve Points G Pole.." "D-diamond grade?!" August chest tightened. Although it was a given that taking down August was going to result in serious casualties and perhaps death, it still didn't hurt less when it eventually happened. "Brace yourselves!" Owling's warning had only just rang out when a fast moving figure shot out from the cloud of dust. Although August seemed to be clearly using the Celestial Steps footwork, his trajectory appeared to be strictly linear. "To think he's already capable of utilizing the second level of Celestial Steps, Blazing Trail.." Captain High Valley's expression went ashen. "Now!" Owling held out his fist. At that moment, Captain Millie and a chubby male Sentry who went by the name Beau, suddenly shot into the air as their fingers perfo

"Hmm.. from what you've told me so far about this Rio character, you envy him.." Dr. List observed Aiden keenly. They've been ten minutes deep in their therapy session and so far, she's succeeded in holding a two way conversation with him. For her, this was progress. "I envy the privileges he had. There was even a time when I wished to have his life.." Aiden shook his head self loathingly. "Oh? and why would you ever think of that? you have to know that no matter how it appears to be on the surface, nobody's life is a rose without its thorns.." Aiden's brows knitted as he adopted a serious tone. "Rio was different. He had everything I ever wanted.. loving parents who spent all their time doting on him, a confident social life.. if I started listing them I'm afraid I won't be able to stop.." "Hmm.. makes sense. However you mentioned parents who spent all their time doting on him.. do you mean to say they are dead?" Aiden nodded, causing Dr. List to exhale. "That must've been

"Blood?" at that moment, her vision suddenly became fuzzy as she nearly tripped before finally finding her balance. "Tch. It would seem that I am near my limit.. "Oh really?" a mocking sneer suddenly echoed, causing a shiver to run up Captain Sarai's spine. She had only just done that when a heavy and equally fast object slammed down on her previous position. If she had been any second later, no do

"So I'm going to ask again.." Dr. List smiled briefly at Aiden. "Are you nervous because this is your first experience at therapy?" Aiden bit his lower lips. He appeared to be on the verge on saying something before pushing his lips as he nodded. Dr. List narrowed her eyes, easily seeing through his lies. "So I heard from your friend outside that you've been experiencing some mental nightmarish experiences?" Dr. List donned her professional face. "She's just exaggerating.. I was just having a bad dream. That's all.." "Heh.." Dr. List adjusted the rims of her glasses. "You aren't being completely honest with me. "What did you do?!" clenching his jaws in rage, he roared in outrage. "What I did?" "For somebody of your status, I thought you'd know about this fact by now?' the sneer in Captain Sarai's statement stroked August rage even more. "The situation is simple really. I have received the recognition of my artifact spirit, you haven't. As such no matter whether your enchanted armament surpasses mine in rankings, it won't mean shit. Right now, your enchanted armament is nothing but a useless hunk of metal.. " "No. No!" August expression fell. "You must be lying!" "Are you worried that you might cause more damage than good? don't worry I can tell that the runic matrix around us is sturdy enough to withstand anything you throw at it.." "... However I don't think the same can be said for me!" tapping his feet on the ground, August disappeared. "Hngh" flipping the hilt of her katana, Captain Sarai suddenly pierced it towards her right.
