Ashley slowly closed the laptop when she noticed Bryan Was asleep. She gently got down from the bed, making sure not to disturb Bryan.
"Is he asleep?" Jason asked once he came inside the room and glanced at Bryan.
"Yeah, he is."
"That's okay...I am just here to check his blood pressure and all."
"Go ahead."
"Hmm...everything seems to be normal, for now”
"That's great." Ashley said,” tell me about his schedule. I will take care of it."
"Ashley, there are nurses..."
"I know, but please, I want to take care of him and it's only for four to five days, right?"
Jason nodded and tapped Ashley's shoulder. "you have to take care of yourself as well..."
Ashley glanced at Jason and nodded. "I know."
Jason looked at Bryan With an unreadable expression, "Ashley..."
"Yes..." Ashley said.
Jason glanced at Bryan's sleeping face and then at Ashley, who stood with clenched fists staring at the floor, and then sighed, "Nothing."
After some time when Jason was done and wrapped up his equipment and turned to Ashley and tapped her shoulder, "There is no turning back now if you are scared, nervous, or guilty it's of no use what's done is done from here on, we can only move forward."
Ashley glanced at Jason slightly before looking at Bryan again.
~~~
When Bryan Woke up the next time he was alone in the room.
He didn't feel sleepy anymore, he just felt weak.
He was also bored with constantly lying on the bed and decided to get up and get out of the bed with difficulty. His head felt heavy but was still bearable. He felt a little ache in his hand too, but that was also bearable.
Fortunately, his legs were okay without any injuries. He didn't feel any pain in his legs, and that gave him relief since he knew that he could walk now.
So he gently walked outside his room, it was quiet, eerily quiet outside just like how a hospital should be at night, but it was creepy.
After being in that room for so long Bryan Felt a little stuffy so he thought that going to the rooftop would be the best idea.
So he walked towards the rooftop and as soon as he reached the rooftop chilled air hit his face, making him slightly shiver and relax.
The night sky was dark as usual. Bryan sat down on the floor and enjoyed this feeling of coldness and loneliness.
But this didn't last long as he saw that there was someone else on the rooftop other than him, it seemed to be an old woman with short white hair and she was standing near the railing looking down.
Bryan thought that this was weird because when he came here he didn't see anyone, and he didn't even hear the door open. Then how did this old lady come in?
Was she here since the beginning? And Bryan Didn't notice.
There seemed to be something wrong with this woman. That woman just stood there and stared down the railing, she wasn't affected by the cold air at all.
Bryan Looked around as well but there was no one so he stood up and tried to say something.
"Um...Miss?...lady?...hello" Bryan said, but there was no response.
That's weird since there is no one here. This woman should have replied, but she didn't.
Bryan Didn't like this, there was something wrong, he was sure of it.
And it was confirmed once the old woman climbed on the railing, which left Bryan stunned.
"Hello Miss? what are you doing? You..." Bryan quickly walked towards the woman but stopped and stared with horror once the woman turned and looked at him. She was indeed an old woman.
But an old woman with completely white eyes! She had no pupils.
She looked extremely pale and her face was completely wrinkled, her mouth was agape and she had no teeth as well. It was a bizarre scene.
Bryan Felt shivers run down his spines, his legs going weak as he stared at this...thing.
The woman then once again looked down and jumped.
"Wait!!!"
"Bryan!!" Bryan Looked back and saw Ashley standing there but he didn't pay attention to her much but quickly looked down from the rooftop and saw that there was no one.
"Bryan, what the hell are you doing here?" Ashley said as she grabbed Bryan's hand and shook him, but Bryan was still looking down with horror.
His breathing was heavy as he sat down on the floor.
Was this his imagination? Was he hallucinating now?
"Ashley..."
"Yes," Ashley said.
"Did you see an old woman here right now?"
"What are you talking about, Bryan? There is only you? see, no one else is here."
Bryan Looked at Ashley with wide eyes and he felt even more nervous now. "You didn't see anyone standing here on the edge of the rooftop?"
"Bryan, I think you are tired. Maybe it's because of the medicines. You are imagining things we should go back to," Ashley said and helped Bryan to stand.
In the end, Bryan just dismissed this thought as his imagination and went with Ashley.
But before going back, he just looked back to see if he was really imagining but to his surprise, he still saw that old woman on the roof and, with the blink of an eye, she was gone.
"What were you thinking going out there all alone? Have you gone mad?""Maybe I have," Bryan said as he leaned back on his bed."Bryan I am already pissed. Please don't test my patience.""Ashley, can my injury cause me to hallucinate as well?"Ashley was quiet for a moment before speaking again. "I don't know, I'll ask your doctor."Ashley sat on the edge of Bryan's bed. "What happened there?"Bryan Looked at Ashley and told her everything. He thought that Ashley will laugh at him or dismiss this matter. He was sure that Ashley will not believe him but to his surprise, Ashley just nodded in the end."It's late, and you have been through a lot, you should go back to sleep now.""Wait!" Brian Said and grabbed Ashley's hand, "Do you believe me?"Ashley took Bryan's hand into her own and said while looking into his eyes, "Of course I do, I believe that you saw something there but now you tell me do you believe that it was y
"Wow, I feel so refreshed now. Thanks for the help, Ashley," Bryan said as he sat on his bed shirtless. He was only wearing his pants."Now wear your shirt," Ashley said as she helped Bryan to wear his shirt."I'll get your breakfast and then you need your medicine."Bryan smiled and stared at Ashley, who at first didn't seem to mind but after some time she asked, "What?""Aren't you tired?" Bryan asked quietly. "You have been constantly taking care of me, and not even once I have seen you taking a rest."Ashley smiled gently, "because I don't rest in front of you.""The dark circles under your eyes say something else."Ashley sighed, "They are nothing, it's just I have a lot of work nowadays so...""And on top of that, you have me, a burden."Ashley sat beside Bryan. "You are a precious burden. No one takes care of a burden as I do. If you were really trouble, I wouldn't have been here with you.""I am glad you a
Constant murmurs were invading his ears, disturbing his peaceful sleep.When Bryan came to his senses, he was lying on the bed. His head was in pain and so was his shoulder. With pain, he tried to open his eyes and saw Ashley's blurry figure. It seemed like she was talking to someone, but Bryan couldn't see anyone else in the room."Hmm..." a painful groan escaped his mouth, which made Ashley turn to him instantly."Bryan! Are you okay? How do you feel?""Terrible." Bryan replied in a rough voice, "Can I have some water?""Sure," Ashley quickly poured water for Bryan, which he drank in one go, " Are you mad Bryan? What were you thinking? When did I say rest? Then why weren't you resting?"Do you have any idea how dangerous it would be if something happened to you? Why do you have to do something opposite of what I tell you to do?" Ashley finally exploded. She was shaking and her eyes were red as well.Bryan stared at Ashley with a bla
"A necro...what?""A necromancer...basically you are the opposite of me.""How?"I exorcise spirits that send them to the afterlife, netherworld, a necromancer, on the other hand, summons spirits and souls, to communicate with them.""Wow, that's cool."Ashley shook her head. "Cool? let me remind you that you cannot use your abilities yet and you would be killed by now if I wasn't there besides do you think it's easy to be a necromancer?""What abilities do I have other than summoning a ghost?"Ashley drank some water before replying, "The stronger a necromancer is, the stronger is his ability. He can control the spirits and use them as weapons and the strongest necromancer can bring back someone from the dead.""Really?""Don't let that get to your head. Only the strongest of the strongest necromancers can do that...you, on the other hand, don't even remember your name."Bryan leaned on the bed, "Well, that sucks
"Finally, I am discharged today," Bryan said as he stretched his free uninjured hand in the air and took a deep breath."Yes, finally you are discharged today." Ashley sighed as well, feeling as happy as Bryan. "Now let's go home.""Home? you say.""Yes, home. Our home."The two sat in Ashley's car, with Ashley in the driver's seat and Bryan in the passenger seat."So where is your home?""It's situated on the outskirts of the city.""That must be far.""It is far. So enjoy the ride."Bryan did as he was told. He peeked outside and enjoyed the. ride, soon they reached Ashley's, house which was situated in a remote area.It was a beautiful two-story brown building, surrounded by greenery and silence."Wow, you live in a nice place." Bryan said and took a deep breath. "it's such a quiet and beautiful place."Ashley smiled slightly and came back with the luggage, "glad you liked it,
Bryan was speechless for a while. "It seems that being an exorcist is a dangerous job."Ashley smiled slightly, but that smile was not a happy one. "Yes it is Bryan, it's an extremely tough job.""What exactly happened that day?""I don't know. I was too small. All I know is that it just took one day for me to become an orphan"Bryan finally shut his mouth and controlled himself from asking any more questions, although he had plenty."You know what?" Ashley said suddenly."What?""We need to go shopping. We need to buy you some clothes and shoes and your own mobile phone."Bryan furrowed his eyebrows. "How come I don't have the basic necessities of life? Was I living on the streets before?""No," Ashley shook her head, "Actually, those people had burned your house, so all of your things were burned as well.""Oooh, I see, then we really need to go shopping. Then my bank cards and phones and legal documents must ha
Bryan woke up, covered with sweat and erratic breathing.His hand subconsciously reached his chest, and he could feel his fast heartbeat.Bryan took a few deep breaths before wiping the sweat off his forehead with his hand. He drank a whole glass of water before heading out of his room.All of that was a dream? Or maybe a part of his memory.And if that's true then it means that he had a brother? But Ashley said that there was no family from Bryan's side.It was late in the afternoon and he felt hungry and uncomfortable.Just as he was about to get out of his room, he heard the doorbell ring, and as soon as he stepped out of his room, he came face to face with Ashley as well, who had just opened the door of his room as well."It must be the food I'll go get," Ashley said, and quickly ran downstairs.Even if Bryan was still in a state of confusion, he still didn't miss the way Ashley looked, sweaty forehead and hea
Today Bryan and Ashley were going shopping.It was Bryan's first day out after getting discharged from the hospital and after losing his memory, so everything was sort of new for him."I think I need to learn to drive again.""Of course, you have to."Bryan sighed and leaned back in the chair. “When can I use my hand freely?""The doctors had said that you have to come for a check-up later and then he will remove your bandages...but...""But?"Ashley sighed. "Your hand will become weak.""I think it has already become weak." Bryan said while moving his hand here and there, "But still usable, I guess."Ashley stole a glance at him before focusing on the drive again."Hey, is that a graveyard?" Bryan asked as he was looking out the window."Yes, it is now. Stop looking in that direction."Bryan didn't question Ashley. He may have lost his memory, but he still knew very well that graveyards are no
