Zeta shook her head, a frown settled on her face as she subconsciously took a few steps back. "no, that's not what I meant to say".
Davide saw her sudden movement away from him but said nothing, he scrutinized her appearance once again and then confirmed that she wouldn't be saying anything more again, he finally opened the door and climbed into his car, leaving her standing there dumbfounded.
He had planned to meet Mr Lee at the building where they would be welcoming the designers that Lisa had introduced for them in and later, he was going to meet with the designers that Cassie had recommended for him. He wondered if he was going to be able to pull it off considering the fact that he was just one person. And he was also very tired.
Everything was tiring and his problems just seemed a lot bigger than he was.
When he got to the building, he saw that Mr
Mr Lee visibly panicked, his fists were tightened on his sides as his brain tried to formulate an excuse to get away from the spot that Davide had placed him. He had not been expecting that Davide would say such a thing out of nowhere.Davide chuckled lightly as he saw the expression on Mr Lee's face, he found it a tad funny that just a few words like that would be able to turn Mr Lee to a nervous mess."What's up with you? If you don't want me to meet them, you just have to use your words".Mr Lee came to, he shook his head and released his fist then he scratched his eyebrow, "it's not that, I just wasn't expecting you to say it like that". Mr Lee half lied.Davide tilted his head to the side, "how?""Like you want to get married!" He yelled.Davide laughed, "that's not true, friends say that as well".Mr Lee shook his head
When Mr Lee stopped the car at the parking lot of the hospital, he could feel that beside him, Davide had many questions. However, maybe he was trying to be patient waiting for Mr Lee to say something first before he asked any question. Davide just stared through the window watching people going about as he waited for Mr Lee to alight from the vehicle first."My sister is here" Mr Lee started. Davide turned to look at him, he pursed his lips and waited for Mr Lee to continue, "she was shot".Davide gasped, "then what are we doing in the car, shouldn't we be there with her?""Are we the doctors that we should make haste?" Mr Lee questioned.Davide paused his hand that was already reaching to open the car, he realized that Mr Lee was right and so he nodded his head and then leaned back into his seat. "I'm sorry, I'm just so anxious." He apologized, "who shot her?"Mr Lee shook his head, "I don't know, my brother just told me she was shot and sent me the location, regarding anything els
Throughout the meeting with the designers that Cassie had recommended, Davide had been lost. He couldn't focus on what was happening around him, continually checking his phone, getting the sting of guilt and sweating in his palms. Mr Lee noticed this and he didn't hesitate to lead the meeting whilst Davide was just lost. He knew what was in his heart but he wondered if calling Avery would be an act of cheating to Cassie because Avery was his ex, the only woman other than Cassie he had ever been with. He didn't know how he wanted to word it. He was very worried about Avery, so worried that the issue with work had been pushed far from the front of his mind."What's going on?" Mr Lee whispered to him when the designers decided to talk amongst themselves. There were over six of them and they all had very intriguing work, their portfolios were filled with pictures of those designs that had hit the market like a storm over the last few years, though they themselves were not popular as the
Mr Lee suddenly felt like it was his fault for bringing it up. He had heard how Davide's voice broke and he guessed that without realizing, Davide had been inexplicably hurt by what he had done. He must've felt an underlying sense of guilt these past days. The issue Avery was facing was no small fit and he had just abandoned her like she was nothing. She had had a miscarriage and no matter what had happened, she couldn't be blamed for it. She had also confessed her love for him which could mean that losing that child was never her aim."When she found out she was pregnant, she didn't want the child. I had to convince her to keep it and I could see how reluctant she was". Davide started, "then she started to use the child to get to me, she would make up stories just so that I would show up. She wanted me back together with her and did all sorts of bullshit to accomplish that. And then we finally got divorced and suddenly the child was gone. It had been a shitty thing to do but I had bl
Davide froze where he stood. His heart was beating fast against his chest, with great difficulty, he had swallowed the reality that Avery had been alone during her most traumatic experience and he hadn't been with her even though what she lost was their child. And now, from one misfortune to another, Avery had lost her mother and she was already having a funeral for her. Davide was ashamed of himself but he knew that this was not about him, it couldn't be about him. The woman he had loved for years was going through not just one experience but two. She had lost the two most important people to her.Davide could only imagine how lonely she was after going through all that she had been through. And all this happened less than a week ago. He glanced at Mr Lee who was behind him, though blue had looked quite ravishing on him, it certainly wasn't the appropriate color right now "Zeta, I need a new pair of clothes right now for my assistant, and make it funeral clothes". He said.Zeta wa
Avery could not will herself to leave her house, ever since her mother's body was taken away, she couldn't clean, move from that spot she found herself. She could do nothing but just sit and stare in the dark room. The sunlight would pour in sometimes but it didn't help how she was feeling. She didn't cry again, she couldn't. She was so lost and alone, staring into space thinking about the tikes when she could've done something with her life but she didn't. She thought back to Davide, thought about how his back looked when he walked out on her, she thought about the confusion that had been imprinted on his face. She couldn't forget how he had blamed her for what happened to her child. She felt life was really quite funny. The people she had tried to hang on to eventually left her. She had tried all kinds of techniques by listening to the ones around her. Some people told her to hang on tightly, she took the advice, to a point where she started to feel that she was hanging on a bit too
Davide made sure he was seeing clearly by looking again. He was speechless when she stopped in front of him glaring at Avery. He couldn't begin to guess what had brought her here to this place, he was caught off guard and it was very profound because he had not told her beforehand that he was coming to see Avery. He felt like he had been caught cheating. "What are you doing here?" She asked, she didn't hide her contempt for Avery.Davide cleared his throat, he wondered if he should introduce the two women but this wasn't the first time they were meeting each other."Avery lost her mom," Davide said.Cassie's countenance changed slightly, she looked at Avery and finally saw what had been so different about the woman. She was frail looking, she looked nothing like the slim thick woman she had been slightly jealous of. The woman who never looked her worst, always in designers clothes and heavy makeup. Thisnwas the first time she was seeing Avery with her bare face and her mouth shut.Ca
Avery froze when she heard that question from Cassie. She didn't know what to say but certainly she had an answer for Cassie. She thought she didn't in any way deserve Cassie's trust. She was the one who had out Cassie's mother in the hospital, so why would she even for a second think that she was worthy of Cassie's trust. And also, she was well aware that if Cassie came to find out about the truth, then surely she wouldn't think that Avery was so trustworthy."You cannot". Avery said.Cassie was shocked, this was the first time that she had asked that question and had gotten a reply like that. She had friends, she had people that her relationship with then started from that single question and she thought it would be the same thing for Avery.Normally, she would ask: "can I trust you?" And they would proceed to reply with "sure, you can'' or "I don't know, can you?"Neither has a response been so direct, so truthful, so full over emotion, so filled with regret. She looked over at Ave
