Day Trois

They gathered all of their available food and sat on the altar to eat .

They cleaned out the goblets with water and asked for forgiveness before using it to share the wine that June had opened quite unceremoniously , spilling most of it around in her attempt .

After June had shared the wine , they made Saul wash his hands before splitting the rest of his roast chicken by four ways and then Clay handed out protein bars for them to munch on when they had finished eating .

They ate quietly , Clay watched as June and Saul secretly watched Jared , they were probably filled with questions for the boy .

As if he knew he was being watched , he lifted his head , he had a little protein bar stuck to the side of his face .

June and Saul began to snigger loudly like that was the funniest thing that they had seen this year and the kid's eyes widened as he looked from one sniggering fool to the other in confusion .
