“I know all your tricks, Alice. You can't fool me.”

“Believe whatever you will Michael. I was there to say hi to someone that used to be your bestfriend and my boyfriend,” she sighed, turning to give him a raised brow. “I just wanted to say hi and nothing more.”

Michael knew that she was not to be trusted. He knew how materialistic Alice could be. After all, that was how he had gotten her.

All any man needed to do was flash a wad of cash in front of her and she would sniff it and swim to it like a shark sniffing out blood in the ocean.

“I don’t care about any of that,” he muttered. “I only hope you’re not planning to get back with him because that will never happen.”

She stared at him for a second before bursting out in an awkward laughter. She laughed for a minute before holding her chest like it hurt her.

“Don’t be silly,” she chuckled, cleaning a tear from her eyes. “That would never happen. It’s never even crossed my mind.”
