Chapter 17

The thick smoke rose from the ground, and it was pretty clear that a bunch of animals were coming in our way. I squinted my eyes, trying to see better.

"Hey, is that a pack of bulls?" I asked them, since they could see better than me because they were two times my height.

"Yup," Myrdin nodded, looking pretty chill.

"Should we run for it?" I asked, looking at both of them while standing in the middle.

"Hell yeah!" Nym bolted first, and I followed, with Myrdin bringing up the rear.

But of course, my short legs were no match for this world. Myrdin picked me up and carried me in his arms. "C'mon, man, you gotta run faster," Myrdin chuckled.

"How can I? Your body is two times bigger than mine," I panted, glancing back. "They're getting closer!" I started panicking.

"Run, Nym, run!" Myrdin urged, sprinting ahead of Nym.

"Ugh," groaned Nym, who was only good in the water.
