ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO

Harvey pulled into the driveway of their mansion, his was mind heavy with a lot going on his mind, the unresolved problems.

The investigation into the leak had consumed every waking moment, leaving him feeling drained and frustrated. No matter how hard he and Professor Jason tried, they seemed no closer to finding the mole within the company. As he turned off the engine, he sat for a moment, staring out at the darkening sky, wondering how much longer this could go on.

Nadia noticed his car pull up and quickly moved to the front door. She had seen her brother like this before—tired, worn out, and burdened by something he couldn’t shudder. As Harvey stepped out of the car, she greeted him with a warm smile, but her eyes quickly browsed his face, noticing the lines of stress and exhaustion.

“Hey, Harvey,” she said softly as he walked up the steps to the porch. “You look like you’ve been through the wringer. Come on inside. I’ve got dinner ready.”
