SIXTY FOUR

Gracia’s desperation had reached new peaks. After exhausting all leads at the hospital, she had found herself standing outside the gates of the mansion where Harvey was rumored to be living. The sprawling estate, with its high iron gates and manicured lawns, looked more like a fortress than a home. She knew this was her last chance to find him.

Every day for the past week, she had driven to the mansion and parked her car a short distance away. Each time, she mustered up the courage to approach the gates, only to be stopped by the stern-faced security guards.

On this particular morning, Gracia arrived wearing a light summer dress, hoping to appear less intimidating. She approached the gate with a mixture of hope and anxiety.

The head security guard, a tall man with serious behavior, recognized her immediately. "Good morning, ma'am," he said, his tone polite but firm. "What brings you here again today?"
