Chapter 150

Rex looked at his watch again. He was not going to wait any longer, so he began texting his watchers.

In a second, a call popped up from them. Usually, when the watchers called, it was bad news.

“Where is he?” Rex asked.

“Sir, the CIA director was found in his garage some twenty minutes ago, unresponsive,” a voice replied from the other end.

Rex got up immediately and walked out of the restaurant.

“What do you mean? Was he attacked?”

“We are not sure,” they replied.

Rex closed his eyes, trying to control his temper.

“We had eyes on him, no one was in his compound, but when he walked into the garage, he never walked out,” they reported.

“Why am I hearing about this now?” Rex lost it.

“Sir, we were waiting for him outside, no threats entered, so we thought there was only a little delay,” they tried to explain.

Rex was tempted to curse, but he held it all in. He was partially to blame; those were the words knocking at the back of his head.
