Rex looked down while his wife looked away as she took a drink. Her father-in-law was right, and she was not in any way offended that Rex's family brought up the issue she was pushing back in her head the whole trip.

There was no way she was going to bring up her child in the middle of the war between Rex and Peter. Or better terms, her husband and father.

“Dad, please, can we talk about this later? Today we are celebrating,” Rex broke the silence.

His father looked away and focused his attention on Rose.

“What about you, Rose? When do you think this topic should be discussed?” Edward threw the question on the table.

Rose bit on her lip, unsure of where to join in.

“Dad, please, can we celebrate today?” Rex was now pleading.

“No, this can't be discussed tomorrow because you might receive news that Peter Banks did A or B, and you might go running, so this is the right time to talk about this,” his father insisted.

Rex sat back in his chair, his appetite gone.
