“Who?”

A defining silence fell after that as the world slowed around them.

“I must be mistaken,” He muttered and stared at her.

Vera frowned slightly as she felt something wasn't right with Evan. Something bad must have happened, and he wasn't telling her what it was.

“Why don't you want to talk about it?” She asked instead, but he didn't answer.

“I think we are done here. Let's head back home,” Evan calmly replied and proceeded to leave, but she held his hand and stopped him from leaving.

“Why aren't you giving me an answer?” She asked worriedly. “Did something happen over there? What about the key? And who was it that found us?”

She held him back with the hope that he was going to answer her endless worries, but he didn't.

Instead, he stared at the hand that held his, then at her. “ I will inform Claus to take you home,”

He gently removed her hands and left her.
