“What's going on here?” Mrs. Bertha's loud voice sounded in the hall and everyone's gaze fixed on her, and then at Christel who was behind her.

“Mother,” Jane beamed and hurriedly walked towards her. “I caught this intruder sneaking around suspiciously,”

Mrs. Bertha's brow raised slightly and she turned towards Vera.

“And who are you?” She asked coldly and at the same time seized her up. Vera was dressed in a beautiful red V-line pencil gown that showed off her curves.

Her long red hair was tied neatly and decorated with expensive jewelry. She stared at Mrs. Bertha calmly and curled her red lips slightly.

“A guest. I wonder if this is how you welcome your guest to your daughter's birthday,” She smiled lightly and Mrs. Bertha frowned

Mrs. Bertha eyed her silently and then faced Jane.

She stared at her for a while, then faced Vera, “It looks like my daughter must have misunderstood you. I sincerely apologize for that, and please, enjoy yourself,”
