The hell they would believe that.
Hearing his response,Mike felt like giving Ethan a knock but he dared not.
Who knew what the kid still had up his sleeves!Never touched a gun before? As if I'll believe that!
However the expression on his face said otherwise as he continued asking with a big smile on his face.
“Wow you must be a prodigy then,or are you a powermaster?”
There was other explanation that Mike could think of except the kid being a powermaster. However, the reply was the direct opposite.
“No.”
“Oh I thought you were…”
Seeing the kid shake his head Mike actually felt bad for him. Just like all of them that were on this wall they were all ordinary civilians who could only watch the select few fight it out down below. Who's blood wouldn't boil when he saw the climatic battle below?
But then when he remembered the insane gun skills he displayed his mood soured immediately. Unlike he and the other wall gunners who were just ordinary civilians with a bit of skill, this kid was basically on another level since he had skill that could probably rival some powermasters!
The more he thought about it the more annoyed he became. Truly comparison was the mother of despair.
***
Back on the battlefield the situation was progressing in favour of the humans with more monsters being killed each second.
To the powermaster of the Raisin camp this was an unprecedented achievement as the monsters always receded whenever they had lost a third of their numbers. They were like slippery mudskippers-always hiding at the sight of the smallest movement.
However thanks to the sniper back on the camp walls they had been able to prevent them from even escaping in the first place!Looking at the dwindling number of monsters they were less than a third of their original amount.
At this rate they would probably be able to kill all the monsters!“Don't give up guys, continue attacking. We can't let cur them some slack even for a second!”
With his gruffly voice Thomas yelled out to the other powermasters on the field as he swung his war hammers around. This was meant to be a sort of morale booster and it seemed to work as they all increased the intensity of their attacks.
Like bulls on steroids they doubled-no tripled the rate at which they were attacking!
Cheers came from the onlookers back in the camp as they watched the battle unfold. Some of the civilians even felt that it was a pity that they couldn't join the fight.Victory was right in front of them!
“Something's wrong!"
While everyone was feeling pumped from their impending victory tyson had this feeling that something wasn't right. He was having a very strong premonition that something was wrong and the worst part was that it was increasing by the second!
“These monsters… why does it seem like they are desperately trying to retreat? They could just simply duke it out with the powermasters in front instead of facing the bullets of the snipers head on.”
Logically speaking, even if most if not all of the monsters here were of the rogue tier known for their lack of tangible intelligence they still had the basic understanding of danger. It was very easy to figure out that running away from the powermaster was death without a struggle since they wouldn't even have the chance to struggle before dying.
“So why are they still trying to head back!”
Dispatching the wolf headed monster that tried to bite him with a quick punch to the head he stood still while trying to understand what was happening here.
Then suddenly like a bolt from the blue a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
“Could it be….they are being controlled?”
As the thought entered his head he couldn't get it out and instantly his face turned pale as he remembered his discussion with the general of the AADAF base.
As if to confirm that a bone chilling aura suddenly descended on him causing all the air on his neck to rise up. His eyes turned to pinpricks as he realised what was happening.
Without hesitation he roared at the powermasters who were already lost in the heat of battle.
“RETREAT!!!!"
Hearing Tyson's roar, everyone fighting stopped for a second as they were puzzled.
Why would he tell them to stop fighting when they were about to finish off all the monsters? With their unrelenting barrage of attacks there were only about twenty or so monsters still alive. This was something they would finish in the next five to ten minutes thus Tyson’s order for retreat was not really making sense to them.
However if there was one thing they learnt all this while it would definitely be that whatever Tyson said had a solid reason behind it.
Still grasping their weapons they hurriedly retreated and then…..
AIYOOOOH
As if a huge horn was being blown a sound reminiscent of metal railing against metal came from deep in the forest.
The next moment an invincible sound wave rushed out from the forest towards their direction. While it was invincible it effects were clear for all to see as trees began breaking after the sound wave passed them.
“Oh no!"
" What the hell is that?!”
“Take cover!”
BOOM
As if a bomb had been detonated the sound wave tore everything in it's path to pieces. Luckily for the powermasters though they were able to escape with minor injuries mainly bruises and cuts.
However the remaining monster weren't so lucky as all of them had turned into bits and pieces!
“Oh my god!”
Looking at the corpses of the monsters-if the torn pieces of flesh could be called remains, fear finally came to the faces of the powermasters as they saw what could have possibly happened to them if they were just a tad bit slower.
“If the monster that did this is already this powerful without showing it self how powerful will it be when it does show up?”
Shaking one of the powermaster from the Wild jackals team that was notorious for having no fear asked the same question that was on everyone's mind.
They could only pray that the monster didn't even bother making an appearance.
GBIM GBIM GBIM
Unfortunately for them though the monster seemed to be interested in making it appearance as it's footsteps echoed closer and closer as it approached the battleground.
Gulp!.. gulp!
Subconciously everyone gripped their weapons tighter as they stared with full concentration at the dark forest before them.
And then they all saw it.
“Holy shit!"

"What did you say?!” Abruptly the general rose up from his seat while a wild dangerous aura spread outwards from him causing the young soldier to uncontrollably step back in fear. “Oh!” Looking at the pale face of the soldier General Lebronsky quickly reined back his aura in. The first thing that entered his eyes was the huge circular metal table situated at the centre of the room. Seated around this table were the members of the Stinging nettles though they were visibly missing two members. The next thing was how bright the room was and the fact that there were some communication equipment there. In fact there was a wall mounted screen that was showing a 3D map of sorts directly opposite him. It was like this place was never cut off from the grid. How was that possible?! Since day one of the apocalypse power had been totally cut off with all electrical appliances and gadgets turning useless. Plus this place was on the outskirts of Barnes city,in an abandoned military training base!Even if there was electricity here previously, there shouldn't be any here now. This however, further affirmed his belief that what was about to be said in this room would definitely be weighty. It might truly affect the continued existence of the Raisin camp!

Honestly speaking,Thomas felt that he wasn't supposed to ask this question. In fact he shouldn't have asked if he was being logical here. However as the leader of the Raisin camp now he just had to. He had to be selfish for the lives of the over two hundred people that was at stake if he didn't. Looking at their faces he could see the hesitation and reluctance causing him to feel like this was a lost cause. He couldn't blame them though as their fears were pretty understandable. They had just fought with a commander tier monster and it totally wrecked them. Going up a against a Xenogenic Alpha tier monster two tiers higher?,that would just be like serving up their lives on a platter! Inside the drivers compartment of each of the vehicles General Lebronsky's voice could be heard causing every car to come to a stop. “Fall into formation now!" Afternoon. The time of the day when the sun was at its peak. Due to the special geography of Barnes city and it's environs it received a lot of sun daily. The highest temperature recorded in the day had once reached a staggering 41 degrees Celsius! While today's temperature wasn't that high it was still hot enough to cause one to sweat bullets. With how hot everywhere was the best thing to do right now would be to sleep and that was what the sentrys of the AADAF base were currently doing. While you might accuse them of slacking off on duty they couldn't really be blamed. Furthermore, the probably wouldn't have anything to do since the monsters that were supposed to attack them would be busy battling the Hellstrike expedition force so they really wouldn't have much to do. The strike force had left the camp over two hours ago and by now they should just be approaching the mountain range, the battle that would decide if humans could continue settling around this area would soon begi

Operation Hellstrike commenced today! Well technically not today as it had started ever since General Lebronsky first tabled the idea. However,in a sense it was still right as this was the first time that something tangible would be done. Previously the only thing being done was just preparations, today was the day that they would really advance to put the operation in motion. “Today finally came!" Suddenly from one of the abandoned houses on the side of the road a tiger like monster suddenly jumped out with the intention of ambushing the truck. However, before it could even step on the asphalt, there was a bang and it fell on the spot having received a bullet to the head. Blowing the smoke off the tip of the gun,the shooter proceeded to place the weapon by his side while watching the number faces of his co travellers.
