“Well, well, what the hell are you two doing here?” she sneered. “Didn’t I make it clear yesterday that you shouldn’t bother coming?”.

Cynthia frowned, confused. “Mitchell, we were asked to come today. the manager approved this this. Why are you acting like this?”.

Mitchell let out a cruel laugh. “Oh, Cynthia, don’t act all innocent. I wasn’t here yesterday, so whatever lie you are trying to spin won’t work on me. , now you are trying to weasel your way in with lies?. Pathetic.”

Cynthia’s voice wavered, but she kept her composure. “This isn’t a lie. We’re here because we were told to meet the board. Why are you making this so difficult?”.

The restaurant hummed with low chatter and the soft clinking of glasses. Across the table, a blind man sat opposite a strikingly beautiful woman, his plate empty from a satisfying meal. "Here, darling," she said with a gentle smile, sliding a pen into his hand. "Just sign at the bottom." He paused, fingertips brushing over the edge of the paper. "What exactly am I signing?". "It’s for... your surgery. I want to help you see again. It breaks my heart to see you like this," she murmured, her smile forced. His hand froze, the pen held tight in his grip. "Liar." Her eyes widened, feigning innocence. "Zaiden, what are you talking about?" Zaiden turned his head in her direction, his face hardening with a fierce intensity. "I know what you’re up to. This isn’t about helping me—it’s something much darker." She stiffened, her gaze narrowing. "How dare you accuse me! After a year together, you think I’d betray you?". The total is $10,000, and you’re responsible for the bill.” Zaiden shook his head, the frustration evident in his tone. “I don’t have that kind of money. She left me in the dark—i don't know about it". "I don't care, you came together, so you will pay!". People around him started murmuring, some laughing. “What kind of man gets tricked by his own woman?” one man sneered. “Blind beggar can’t even pay for his own meal,” another mocked. "who even allow this man to come in here, I feel like throwing up!". The waitress rolled her eyes. “Look, I don’t care about your sob story. Pay up, or I will call security and you will work here for five months to cover the bill”. Zaiden clenched his jaw, feeling the heat of humiliation rising within him. He
