Thane’s face was full of forlorn. “It matters not. If Tomas was responsible for my father’s death he will pay for his crimes. For now, we need to protect our packs. Come let us decide on our next course of action!”Jasper was beginning to worry he would not be able to stop Tomas before his ten days were up. When he inevitably disappears again, what will happen to his mate? He had no way of telling her what was destined to happen in five days’ time.Jasper was lost in his own thoughts of days to come, while Sylvia, Sabastian, Thane, and Borne discussed what to do next. Jasper had not noticed when the four of them became quiet, waiting for an answer to a question he had not heard.“Jasper? Are you with us?” Thane asked concerned. “I am sorry I was somewhere else for a moment, what was the question?” Jasper said apologetically. Thane responded absentmindedly. “I asked if you are planning to meet Tomas tonight or are you going to do something different?” Jasper gave an uncomfortable sigh.
In a panic Jasper quickly turned to his wolf form and bent his snout down to sniff the bracelet. Urgh. He howled out in anger. Tomas did this, not like he did not know this already. His stench was all over Sylvia’s trinket. A wolf came over and had a silent conversation with Jasper. The wolf in question had a cut on his hind leg that was rapidly healing. Tomas attacked him and grabbed Sylvia.Jasper was not going to wait around for Tomas to hurt his mate, he took off straight for the tiny village. Once there he ran straight for the tent. He barged in and found Sylvia bound and unconscious in the corner.“Do not fret Mr. Jasper your mate is unharmed. I was not sure if you would heed my warning and show this evening, so I took matters into my own hands. Now how about you unlock the sigil and move on with your pathetic life!” Tomas came up behind him and said sneeringly.Jasper slowly started glowing and went back to being on two feet. “I love my mate with every fiber of my being, and I
Jasper’s arm was beginning to tingle and go numb. This had never happened to him before. He had no idea how to stop it. The glowing began to intensify as Jasper’s entire arm started to feel like it was no longer there. He had been through so many strange occurrences in his long life that it was easy for him not to panic over this.As fast as the glowing started it stopped, giving him feeling back in his arm. “What the hell was that?” Jasper asked himself. He placed the thought away with all the other questions he had racked up. He had more pressing concerns at the moment. He needed to figure out where he was, and if it would be possible to get back to Sylvia. At least he did not have to worry about money this time around. A perk of never sleeping and only drinking blood. Before he even got a chance to try there was a bright blast of orange light. As soon as the light went away a small man in a clock was in its place. “Jasper Monroe! How are your many lives treating you these days?”Of
From what Jasper had seen so far of this order he could not fathom what would make him join. And the most important question was why he could not remember. It seemed like the other members would not or could not tell him the reason behind this. The man before him Alec, he did not know, but something about him was eerily familiar. As much as he did not want to believe Alec’s words, he believed deep down in every word he spoke. Some how some way this man was an old friend. He wanted to scream out in frustration but kept his cool holding the feelings inside.“I know this is all really hard for you to comprehend but sooner or later you will understand. I can not tell you much else about the Order of the Supernatural, but that too, you will learn of once again in due time. For now, I have been given permission to tell you why you do not remember and why you change every ten days. You did something three hundred or so years ago that the order found unacceptable, so you were punished. Your p
Jasper braced himself against the wall waiting to attack whoever walked into the room. The footsteps fell right outside the door. “What do you think is in this room?” one of the men said to the other. In response the other one said, “Forget about it we did not come into this log cabin to steel from the owner we came here to wait until nightfall so we could steel from the bank after it closes.” Jaspers smiled triumphantly. If these men were going to be hanging around until after dark, he would be able to stop them from pulling off their plan. He knew it really had nothing to do with him, but he could not help thinking about all the people who worked so hard for the money they were about to steal, and Jasper knew he would not be able to deal with his guilt if he did not step in and do something. The day seemed to drag on and on while Jasper figured out how he was going to deal with these two men. He was already starting to feel the agonizing hunger and he knew he would have to feed on a
As the night became pitch black Jasper and Alec sat at the fire, Jasper asked out of curiosity, “Alec, who does this cabin belong to? It obviously did not belong to these two petty thieves.” Alec laughed. “You really do not have much of your memories at all. This house actually belongs to you, Jasper. Your mate and you bought the land here centuries ago as a means to get away every now and again. She built this cabin with you in mind.” Jasper was in awe that Sylvia did this for him. He guessed he always talked about building one and she wanted to have it ready incase he ever came home. The thought of that saddened him, for he had no idea when he would see her again. He hoped he would not have to wait another three hundred years.Alec pulled Jasper out of his thoughts by saying, “Okay let us get down to business. There is some sinister group of people who are still unknown to us who are trying to destroy The Order of Supernatural. I have been given permission to tell you the basics of
Jasper stood there looking at the pouch in his hand. He carefully flipped it over spilling the runestones into the palm of his hand. There were thirteen runestones in total. Each one had a different symbol. After looking over them he realized there was no way he would be able to figure out how to use them. He had to find an expert. Not really sure where to start, he decided to hunt down the other vampires in the area.He closed his eyes, searching with his ears for any sign of life or rather in this case unlife. His ears could hear for about two miles in every direction. After standing there for a minute not hearing anything he ran north one mile and started again. He would do this every minute or so until he picked something up. There was no point in going east or west since that led straight into towns. If he found nothing north, he would start over where he stood now and head south.Jasper lucked out and only had to travel five miles north before picking a den of vampires up. From
Jasper fell to the ground not understanding why he could not move. It was an ordinary arrow was it not? He looked at it and realized that the tip of it was made out of wood. Though the arrow pierced his leg and not his heart it was still incapacitated to a vampire like him. He was not worried if they killed him, he was only worried about losing access to his runestones. He closed his eyes waiting for his end to come once again. All of us sudden he felt something lift him and he was flying through the air. He opened his eyes and saw Ezmerelda running while carrying him. After they were about five miles from the hunters, she put Jasper on the ground and examined the arrow sticking out of him. She quickly snapped it in half and pulled it out. “I am sorry Jasper. I should have warned you about them. There is a family of hunters not far from our den who has passed on the knowledge about vampires to their kin through the ages. It is almost time for the sun to rise quickly go but come see m
