From what Jasper had seen so far of this order he could not fathom what would make him join. And the most important question was why he could not remember. It seemed like the other members would not or could not tell him the reason behind this. The man before him Alec, he did not know, but something about him was eerily familiar. As much as he did not want to believe Alec’s words, he believed deep down in every word he spoke. Some how some way this man was an old friend. He wanted to scream out in frustration but kept his cool holding the feelings inside.“I know this is all really hard for you to comprehend but sooner or later you will understand. I can not tell you much else about the Order of the Supernatural, but that too, you will learn of once again in due time. For now, I have been given permission to tell you why you do not remember and why you change every ten days. You did something three hundred or so years ago that the order found unacceptable, so you were punished. Your p
Jasper braced himself against the wall waiting to attack whoever walked into the room. The footsteps fell right outside the door. “What do you think is in this room?” one of the men said to the other. In response the other one said, “Forget about it we did not come into this log cabin to steel from the owner we came here to wait until nightfall so we could steel from the bank after it closes.” Jaspers smiled triumphantly. If these men were going to be hanging around until after dark, he would be able to stop them from pulling off their plan. He knew it really had nothing to do with him, but he could not help thinking about all the people who worked so hard for the money they were about to steal, and Jasper knew he would not be able to deal with his guilt if he did not step in and do something. The day seemed to drag on and on while Jasper figured out how he was going to deal with these two men. He was already starting to feel the agonizing hunger and he knew he would have to feed on a
As the night became pitch black Jasper and Alec sat at the fire, Jasper asked out of curiosity, “Alec, who does this cabin belong to? It obviously did not belong to these two petty thieves.” Alec laughed. “You really do not have much of your memories at all. This house actually belongs to you, Jasper. Your mate and you bought the land here centuries ago as a means to get away every now and again. She built this cabin with you in mind.” Jasper was in awe that Sylvia did this for him. He guessed he always talked about building one and she wanted to have it ready incase he ever came home. The thought of that saddened him, for he had no idea when he would see her again. He hoped he would not have to wait another three hundred years.Alec pulled Jasper out of his thoughts by saying, “Okay let us get down to business. There is some sinister group of people who are still unknown to us who are trying to destroy The Order of Supernatural. I have been given permission to tell you the basics of
Jasper stood there looking at the pouch in his hand. He carefully flipped it over spilling the runestones into the palm of his hand. There were thirteen runestones in total. Each one had a different symbol. After looking over them he realized there was no way he would be able to figure out how to use them. He had to find an expert. Not really sure where to start, he decided to hunt down the other vampires in the area.He closed his eyes, searching with his ears for any sign of life or rather in this case unlife. His ears could hear for about two miles in every direction. After standing there for a minute not hearing anything he ran north one mile and started again. He would do this every minute or so until he picked something up. There was no point in going east or west since that led straight into towns. If he found nothing north, he would start over where he stood now and head south.Jasper lucked out and only had to travel five miles north before picking a den of vampires up. From
Jasper fell to the ground not understanding why he could not move. It was an ordinary arrow was it not? He looked at it and realized that the tip of it was made out of wood. Though the arrow pierced his leg and not his heart it was still incapacitated to a vampire like him. He was not worried if they killed him, he was only worried about losing access to his runestones. He closed his eyes waiting for his end to come once again. All of us sudden he felt something lift him and he was flying through the air. He opened his eyes and saw Ezmerelda running while carrying him. After they were about five miles from the hunters, she put Jasper on the ground and examined the arrow sticking out of him. She quickly snapped it in half and pulled it out. “I am sorry Jasper. I should have warned you about them. There is a family of hunters not far from our den who has passed on the knowledge about vampires to their kin through the ages. It is almost time for the sun to rise quickly go but come see m
Jasper looked around taking in his surroundings. He was mesmerized by the vast forest around him. There were so many creatures he had never seen before frolicking here and there. He knew one thing for sure this was not going to be some mere human mortal. Jasper was starting to get second thoughts about visiting some strange woman in a forest that was unnatural. But he swallowed his fear knowing this was the only way to unlock the knowledge of the runestones. With a deep breath he stepped forward towards the huts front door and knocked with three quick raps. A moment later he heard a small shrill voice from inside the hut say, “Come on in Jasper Monroe! I have been waiting for you for way to long now.” Jasper hesitantly opened the door not sure if he liked that whomever he was about to meet knew him by name. he knew there was no possible way Ezmerelda came here to warn of his arrival. “Do not be weary my child. I know all and I see all. I am the oracle of this forest.” Jasper looked ar
Jasper eyed Ezmerelda up and down not sure what to make of her being here apparently waiting for him. “Not exactually, you see she has sent me on a side quest to obtain something that was stolen from her. As long as I retrieve her lost item and give it back to her, she will help me in return. Sadly, you are the one who stole her possession and I doubt you will be willing to just hand it over to me.” Ezmerelda smiled wickedly and let out a sinister laugh.“Oh Jasper! Tell you what I will give you her trinket if you do something for me, besides I only took it because I thought the magic in it would work for me, but it will not. I do not know if it is because it will only work on fairy kind or if it is because I am technically undead whatever the reason it is useless to me.” Ezmerelda said in a sickly-sweet voice. Jasper had no idea what she could possibly want from him, but he knew he would not like it. Deep down he believed he was going to have to fight this woman and he would rather a
Jasper was suddenly mystified as to how this small vampire child knew of his deception. It made no logical sense that she not only knew of his lie but of what his actual plan was. He has seen and heard in stories, movies, and television shows that vampire have unique gifts. He knew however that every vampire he has met that he could recall held no such gift. So why was this vampire child different from all the rest. “Why would you accuse me of lying young child? What good would come of it?” Jasper asked curiously. He hoped that he sounded sincere, and she would second guess her accusation.Ezmerelda growled before saying, “You are a fool, Jasper Monroe! I am not one to take lightly to being lied to. This child is special in more ways than one. I am not sure how much you know about your heritage, from what I have seen it cannot be to much. Vampire children rarely live until adulthood. Something always happens and they wind up dying. This child however was blessed by the very oracle you
Jasper was not sure if the hunter named Hank would try and kill him here and now and he was starting to feel uncomfortable by the way the man was starring daggers at him. Lemont cleared his throat and said, “Calm down brother. The bloodsucker did not say we had to agree to it, it was just a request, and as far as I am concerned it is such a small thing and we should be able to agree. Now tell me, Jasper was it, tell me what makes you want to spare this child-d-d?” Jasper picked up on how hard it was for him to call the vampire a child. It seemed to him Lemont was willing enough to give into Jasper’s request and he figured he may as well tell them the whole truth about the child. Jasper took the next few moments explaining about her special gift. The three brothers all had different expressions on their face when Jasper was through. Lemont looked intrigued, Hank looked mortified, and Paul looked amused. Jasper had to suppress a laugh because looking at the three of them reminded him of
What was going on here? Jasper was more confused than ever. Did Alec know Sylvia personally? And if he did does that mean Sylvia knew more about his past than she seemed to let on. Jasper spent the day studying the markings on the wall until he could see the images burned into his corneas when he closed his eye lids. He was impatient for Alec’s return so he could ask him how much about his mate he knew.Day sixOnce the sun disappeared for the night Jasper walked out of his cave and took a look around, annoyed that Alec had not shown up this evening. Not wanting to waste more time thinking about what he couldn’t control Jasper took his leave and headed for the hunter’s house. He hoped that they had not changed their minds and that they were still willing to help him. He planned on trying to talk them out of harming the vampire child, but he was not sure if that will go over well. He had to try though he knew he would never forgive himself if he didn’t after that it was out of his hand
Jasper stood there wondering to himself if he should kill them all and shook the thought out of his head. He had an idea which could turn into him dying himself, but he figured his business here was done anyway so if he died prematurely oh well. He approached the man standing on the porch. You could see it in the man’s eyes he knew Jasper was a vampire, before the man could do anything about it Jasper raised his hands in front of him.Jasper gave the man a small smile and said, “I know all you want to do right now is grab your crossbow and destroy me, but I have a proposition for you. There is a whole coven of vampires you have been after to ages and I can help you take them out if you wish. Afterwards I will leave it up to you if you want to kill me or let me go, so what do you say?”The hunter in front of him started laughing hard before saying, “This is rich hahaha. Imagine a stinking blood sucker is offering his help to me. Paul get out here you are not going to believe this shit!
Jasper braced himself for the onslaught of the clan’s attack. He knew he was much faster than them and he was stronger. Deep within him was the power of the wolf that no matter what shape or form he was in would always give him an advantage. He always knew he was better than the others of his kind no matter what creature he turned into, and he now realized it was because of his family’s blood. He promised himself he would try to not kill them, only incapacitate them. The leader of the clan who spoke to Jasper before was the first to attack. Jasper braced himself and just as the other vampire reached him, he pushed his hands out in front of him and sent the man flying into a nearby tree. You could here the tree tremble with the impact of the vampires body along with snapping of at least three of his bones. The vampires healed relatively quickly so Jasper would have to work fast if he could escape before they regained their strength.Jasper decided that his best strategy would be to run
Jasper let out a huge puff of air. He was expecting this. He knew once the drake Marcel destroyed Ezmerelda that her clan would come for his blood. He knew he could not lie to them because of the exceptional gift the vampire child had. He went to go confront them when Alec grabbed him by the shoulder gesturing with his index finger for him to wait one minute. “Jasper I am worried that if you go out there you will die. Yes, I know you will come back as something else, and I also know I will not be able to talk you out of it. You have always been a man of honor and I know you will make sure they know why the vampire named Ezmerelda will never return to them. I want to help you handle them however I am not like you if I die, I will be gone for good. Tell me what you want me to do here. Whatever your choice is I will honor it.” Alec said with complete devotion. Jasper shook his head and said, “Alec this is not your fight. I would prefer if you left, I do not want you to wind up dead esp
Jasper’s smile spread with every new memory that flooded back in. He was pleased to find that most of these memories were of his father and Sylvia. He also found that Alec had not lied to him he was indeed a very close friend. He was getting flashes of caves and members of the order of the supernatural, but he couldn’t hold on to them. They were just quick flashes after memories of Alec ran their course. He was surprised by how many memories there were of Alec. He guessed that they had know each other for a very long time. he began to wonder what exactly Alec was because no normal human could live as long as him and from his memories, he knew him back when he was still with his pack. Jasper was ecstatic by having some of who he was back but there was not enough to give him a full story. He found himself more frustrated than satisfied.Jasper opened his eyes once he was sure that he was not going to get anymore memories. The Oracle smiled at him and said, “Well child how do you feel?”

Ezmerelda, startled, turned around slowly and cautious to find out what made the horrendous noise. As she laid er eyes on the humongous drake every inch of her body was paralyzed with pure terror. It took her a minute before she forced out, “By the Gods! What type of demon is this?” She was terrified and she had no idea what would cause this monster to have a such a problem with her.“Quite your tongue you foul dead creature. Jasper Monroe is now and will always be under my protection. What tries to harm him is just as if they mean harm to me. You have broken a sacred law and messed with the will of a precious soul. For that your punishment is death!” Not giving Ezmerelda a second to respond the drake rose into the air and blew out a waterfall of flames from his mouth onto her incinerating her instantly wiping her existence from this world.Jasper stared in wonder. “I see you were not kidding when you said you would know when trouble found me. I am deeply thankful for your rescue. I a
Jasper wasted no time heading back to Ezmerelda. He bid farewell to the drake and ran until he was almost back to the entrance of the enchanted forest. As promised Ezmerelda was there waiting for him however the vampire child was not in sight. Jasper wondered if she was still here possibly hiding in the shadows to watch what Jasper does so, she can report any false hoods to Ezmerelda. “Where is the child?” Jasper asked curiously. Ezmerelda smiled and said, “I sent her home. I saw no reason for her to stick around and wait with me I prefer to be alone sometimes. So, were you successful in retrieving what I asked you to acquire?”Jasper pulled the artifact out of his pocket and showed it to her. “An even trade? I will hand you this at the same time you hand me the sapphire agreed?” Ezmerelda nodded and than she too pulled the gem from her pocket. They approached each other than exchanged their items. Ezmerelda smiled triumphantly. “Go ahead and take the old lady her gem I will wait for
