"What do you mean by that? 'I can use my friend to get what I want' I don't even understand what you're trying to say." Emily gave her father a questioning look. She thought that he was beating about the bush.

"And Dad. Mirabel is no longer my friend."

John glanced at his daughter and hissed.

"Mirabel has grown closer to Zachary. You should not have fought with her because of that. Instead, you could just make her talk to Zachary by using your friendship as an edge. You can tell her to help convince Zachary to forget about what we did to him in the past. That way, it's a win-win for us as we don't get kicked out of the company."

Emily's mouth fell apart.

She hadn't thought about that. It was a good idea. Instead of picking up a fight with Mirabel, she should have just used her to salvage their situation. Unfortunately, they had become sworn enemies.
