Korah had never known his parents. He had been found, abandoned on the steps of a small orphanage on the outskirts of the city. The nuns who ran the orphanage had taken him in, but life had never been easy for him.He was small for his age, with scrawny arms and legs and a shock of unruly black hair. The other children teased him relentlessly, calling him names like "runt" and "mouse". Korah tried to ignore them, but it was hard. He felt like an outsider, like he didn't belong anywhere.
Korah had always known that he was different from the other children. He had no magic, no special powers that the other children had. In the city of Arindale, where magic was commonplace, being without it was a curse. The children who had magic could control the elements, summon creatures, and even fly. They were the elites, the chosen ones, and Korah was not one of them.Despite his lack of magical abilities, Korah was determined to make something of himself. He worked hard at his studies, and the nuns praised him for his intelligence and diligence. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was meant for something more. The requirements to become a mage were strict and difficult to meet, and Korah struggled to keep up with the other children who seemed to have a natural talent for magic. He spent long hours studying and practicing, but progress was slow, and his frustration grew with each passing day. Despite the obstacles in his way, Korah refused to give up. He was determined to become a mage and prove that he was just as good as the others.Korah wandered the streets of Arindale, a bustling city filled with mages and non-mages alike. He watched as the mages walked by, flaunting their magical abilities, while he struggled to survive without any magical powers of his own. It wasn't easy being an orphan boy in a city like Arindale, where magic was the key to success. To become a mage in Arindale, one had to meet a certain set of requirements. They had to be born with magical powers, or in rare cases, they could acquire them through a magical artifact. In addition, they had to undergo rigorous training to hone their skills and prove themselves worthy of wielding magic.Korah had always dreamed of becoming a mage, but he was born without any magical abilities. He had tried to acquire a magical artifact in the past, but he couldn't afford the steep price. He had even tried to sneak into the mage academy to learn magic, but he was caught and thrown out.Despite his lack of magical powers, Korah was determined to make something of himself. He worked odd jobs around the city, doing whatever he could to survive. He even tried to learn basic magic on his own, but he could only manage a few simple tricks. The range of magical powers in Arindale was vast and varied. Mages could manipulate the elements, heal the sick, conjure illusions, and even summon creatures from other realms. The possibilities were endless, and Korah couldn't help but feel envious of those who possessed such incredible abilities.Korah knew he had to find a way to stand out in a city filled with mages. He had heard of a powerful mage who lived in the outskirts ofArindale, and he decided to seek him out. The journey was long and treacherous, but Korah was determined to prove himself worthy of becoming a mage.As he trekked through the dense forest, Korah stumbled upon a hidden cave. He cautiously entered the cave and found himself standing before an ancient artifact. He knew this was his chance to acquire magical powers and become a mage.Korah reached out to touch the artifact, but a sudden blast of energy knocked him off his feet. He lay there, dazed and disoriented, as he realized that he had failed . Despite the setback, Korah refused to give up this chance, so he remained in the cave for days and weeks in end as he tried to connect and understand the magic contained in the artifact. As Korah spent more time in the cave, he began to feel a strange energy emanating from the artifact. It was unlike anything he had ever experienced before, and he couldn't help but feel drawn to it. He spent more time studying the artifact, trying to understand its secrets and unlock its power.weeks turned into months and Korah began to lose track of time. He hardly ate or slept, consumed by his quest for magical power. He tried everything he could think of, but nothing seemed to work. He began to despair, wondering if he would ever be able to harness the power of the artifact. Just when Korah was about to give up, something miraculous happened. As he was meditating in front of the artifact, he felt a sudden surge of energy coursing through his body. He opened his eyes and saw that the artifact was glowing brightly, surrounded by a shimmering aura.Korah knew that this was his chance. He reached out to touch the artifact, and this time, he felt a warmth spreading through his fingers. He closed his eyes and focused all of his energy on the artifact, and suddenly, he felt a rush of power flowing through him.He opened his eyes, and to his amazement, he saw that he was surrounded by a swirling vortex of magical energy. He could feel the power coursing through his veins, filling him with strength and vitality. He laughed with joy, realizing that he had finally achieved his dream of becoming a mage.As Korah emerged from the cave, he knew that his life would never be the same. He had discovered a power within himself that he never knew existed, and he was determined to use it to achieve great things. With new found purpose, confidence and determination, Korah set out on his journey back to Arindale. He was eager to put his newfound powers to the test and prove himself worthy of becoming a mage.As he walked through the dense forest, Korah felt a sense of unease. He knew that the road ahead would be treacherous and dangerous, but he was determined to push forward. At the start of the new year, korah who was 14 years old, decided to enrol in the mage academy since he was now a mage. The mage academy is a School that trains and teaches young boys between ages 10 and 18 how to use their powers, understand them and improve their control over them. korah had been dreaming of attending the mage academy all his life, watching his dream come true, he was so excited to take the test so he woke up at the first crack of dawn, did some breathing exercises, meditated a little and set out for the mage academy in Arindele. On his way to the mage academy, korah found out that he was the oldest child on the streets due to the fact that powers are awakened at the age of 10. In the mage academy, there exists a crystal ball which shows your affinity for elements like wind, water, fire and your potential as a mage. It grades you with colours of the rainbow with red being the lowest and violet as the highest. In Arindele, it is rare to see a mage that controls more than two elements so the highest anyone has ever been graded in the mage academy is green.Immediately korah stepped into the academy, he witnessed a round and chubby boy, being bullied by some other kids due to his size. He watched them use wind, fire and some other common elements to attack the boy. korah, due to being an orphan who was often bullied, was not new to the sight of someone getting beaten by others who were stronger. He had long understood that ultimate strength is the only thing that could give one the right to live in this strength oriented world. As he watched on, he felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, he empathized with the chubby boy and felt angry at the bullies for their cruel actions. On the other hand, he also felt a sense of familiarity with the situation. He debated internally whether to intervene and stop the bullies or to simply walk away and mind his own business. After a moment of contemplation, putting his total lack of control over his powers in view, he decided to walk away with a strong thought that what does not kill you will only make you stronger. This episode made him strengthen his resolve to be as strong as humanly possible.korah continued on into the academy with other children. he looked around the academy, taking in the sights and sounds of his new surroundings. He noticed that the air felt charged with energy, and he felt a thrill of excitement at the thought of being able to harness that energy with his elemental powers. He felt a different energy in the atmosphere and he immediately felt invigorated and at that point, he could feel a faint connection between his powers and the environment as if the academy itself was a source of power that he could tap into. He knew that this was a special place, a place where he could learn to master his powers and become even stronger. As he walked through the halls of the academy, he saw other children with their own unique elemental powers. Some were manipulating fire, while others were controlling water or earth. He felt a sense of camaraderie with these other students, knowing that they shared a common bond of power and strength.Korah couldn't wait to begin his studies at the academy and learn how to harness his own elemental powers to their fullest potential. He felt a sense of purpose and excitement that he had never felt before, and he knew that he was exactly where he was meant to be.After about an hour of waiting, the academy was filled to the brim with young children who wanted to take the test and get enrolled into the academy. The testing soon began, and Korah watched as each student stepped up to the crystal ball and placed hand on the surface some had smiles on their faces while others seemed downcast. After some time, it was korah's turn he approached the crystal ball with anticipation, wondering what his affinity for magic elements would be. As he placed his hand on the surface of the crystal ball, he felt a surge of energy flow through him, and the crystal ball lit up with a bright light.Korah's heart raced with excitement as he watched the crystal ball light up. He knew that this was the moment when he would discover his true affinity for elemental magic, As the light faded, Korah saw that the crystal ball had revealed a symbol that he had never seen before. It was a combination of several different elemental symbols, merging together to form a unique and complex design and he couldn't wait to see what it would be.As the light faded, Korah saw that the crystal ball had revealed a bright green colour. Amongst all the children so far, he was the one with the highest affinity. the crystal ball also showed that, He had three elements, Wind, fire and lightning .He was in shock and amazed by the fact that he had not just one or two but three elements. Korah felt a sense of determination wash over him it would be a difficult challenge to learn the use and control of his powers but he was ready to take it on. He was excited to learn more about his affinity and to see just how far his powers could take him.Immediately after the tests, the principal and instructors in the school stood up and came before everyone. They separated the mages from non mages, and the also put together the mages in groups based on the elements the had exhibited. After all that was done, korah was the only one left without a group so he was asked to stand aside. The principal gave a speech about the history of the mage academy and welcomed every mage to the academy. He also asked senior students in the academy to assume the roles of group leaders so as to carry the new students along and to teach them about the rules guiding the academy. After the speech, the principal declared the end of this year's round of testing and admission. The principal cast a look at korah and before leaving he asked korah to follow him. korah walked quietly behind the principal until they got to a remote part of the academy after which the principal looked at korah again and invited him into a small room. Inside, korah stared wide eye
The chirping of birds and insects and the sweet scent of fresh dew on grass roused korah from his slumber. He had spent the night in deep meditation, trying to be in tune with his powers. Before standing up, he rubbed his eyes lazily and just took out time to reminisce about his life so far. He was going to be fifteen years in two months time, he had tasted the good, the bad and the ugly in his almost fifteen years of existence. He thought back to when he was bullied, neglected and mocked, he thought of the kindness of the nuns, the principal and his new found friends. He was happy to have been given a second outlook of life due to his lucky encounter with the magic artifact in the cave without which he would still be a worthless orphan who knew nothing about magic. After spending a little more time in bed, he stood up and started the day with breathing exercises, meditation and brushing up his magic skills.Today, the principal was going to have a long session with all the students o
korah, after realizing instructor Belle was asking him to move closer, blushed a little and moved towards her without disturbing the other students. after few seconds, he was close enough to hear and whisper responses to her, he sat down.As if on cue, instructor Warren paused the session and asked "what is the most important quality of a mage?" All the students looked at each other, unsure of the answer but after a while, responses started pouring out randomly from all the students present like an avalanche.after few minutes, instructor Warren cleared his throat loudly to stop the noise then he continued "the most important quality of a mage is a strong sense of determination. Without determination, a mage will give up too easily and never reach their full potential." this response, got all the students nodding their head in agreement especially Korah since he could relate to the importance of determination in his life's journey so far.Instructor Warren paused for a while as if wa
Early the next morning, korah jumped up from bed with a start, visibly disturbed. Apparently, he was plagued with a very disturbing nightmare throughout the night. It used to be a common occurrence while he was still at the orphanage, but since he got to the mage academy, he has been sleeping better and had totally forgotten all about the nightmares which always seemed to take away his sleep every night. Korah rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream. He couldn't quite remember what it was about, but he knew it had been terrifying. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, reminding himself that it was just a dream and it wasn't real.He got out of bed and started his usual morning routine, trying to push the nightmare out of his mind. As he dressed up, he tried to recall if anything significant had happened yesterday that could have triggered the nightmare. But he couldn't think of anything. Korah made his way to the training hall, his mind still fog
