The gateway

King Arcturus's son's eyes trembled with shock and sorrow as he stared at his father's lifeless body lying on the ground.

Overwhelmed with grief, he fell on his father's cold corpse, crying out in anguish and screaming in agony.

Through his tears, the prince managed to utter broken words amidst his sobbing. "Father... Why... Why did this happen? Why did you have to leave me?"

Arthur, witnessing the devastation and despair in the young prince's eyes, felt a heavy weight of guilt crash down on him.

The realization of what he had done, of the life he had taken, consumed him.

This wasn't what he wanted not like this.

Suddenly his system screen appeared before him, displaying Paragon's message:

[Notice: First Task. Eliminate King Arcturus.

Arthur let out a heavy sigh, his heart heavy with remorse.

"Sorry, kid," he murmured, his voice filled with regret. "I wish I hadn't... but it was part of the task."

The prince, looked up at Arthur.

Arthur gasped, feeling a chill run up his spine.
